Give the voters a say in their government??? Are you nuts?

• Aldermen blocked a measure Thursday to place a symbolic question on the March primary ballot asking voters whether to end Chicago’s status as a sanctuary city, the likely end to a monthslong saga driven by opponents of Mayor Brandon Johnson seeking to take a stand against his response to the migrant crisis.

  In a 31-16 vote, the City Council sided with Johnson in rejecting a motion to debate whether to include a nonbinding referendum on the ballot asking “Should the City of Chicago limit its designation as a Sanctuary City by placing spending limits on its public funding?”

Remember, this was a non-binding resolution - purely symbolic - for voters to give the thumbs-up-or-thumbs-down on what was a declaration by a previous mayor (Washington?) declaring Chicago a "sanctuary city," something that voters had no say so decades ago.

Now, this previously autonomous declaration has resulted in taxpayers being stuck with a bill for well over $100 million....and might top out north of $300 million while Blowie desperately looks around for money he's going to be shoveling at the CTU shortly.

We certainly hope the communities being hardest hit by (A) illegals, (B) tax hikes, and (C) reductions in services remember these 31 alderassholes who denied you a voice.
