Here's an angry tool who is whining about lieutenants taking a pay cut to be commander and commanders making less than captains after minimal overtime AND that their respective pensions will be higher than a commander. (you might have to go to the FOP social media site to see the pictures better):
He also told a community activist that arbitration of termination cases for police officers would be a "step backwards."
We don't recall the FOP representing commanders.
We also don't recall anyone ever being ordered to take a commander spot.
The FOP is calling out this asshat, but we'd suggest a step further - everyone knows that a lot of bosses rejoin the FOP upon retirement for assorted reasons. Maybe the FOP should have something similar to the City's "Do Not Hire" list for retired bosses who have worked against or made comments against the FOP's interests.

If these upper bosses weren’t working for the Chicago Police Department they wouldn’t make it in life. They have no useful skills to get meaningful employment. The 009 District Commander should be focusing on is dismal crime rate. The District has had a drag racing problem scene he got here. Gangs, drugs and guns go unchecked. I always noticed bosses who have no idea what they are doing point their fingers at something else. This incompetent boss agrees to just kiss @$$. This guy is the worse of the worse. Here’s a fun fact about Curtis , Curtis was the XO in 009 for a few years prior to being promoted to Commander and one day a few months ago the 009th District was up for Compstat. During Compstat Curtis was asked a simple question and that was , what is the biggest gang conflict in 009? One would think if you’ve been in this district as a supervisor for a few years you would know this answer to this question or at least have some answer. Well, not Curtis he could not come up with that answer or any other answer to the questions being asked to him about the district he is in charge of. It was a very embarrassing moment for Curtis and it was even more embarrassing when Compstat was ended because old Curtis could not answer any questions about crime in the 009th District . That’s right the Compstat meeting was ended for the day ,because Curtis could answer any questions about the district he commands. Bottom line is Curtis is micro managing douche that has no business being a commander. Curtis is better suited for the radio room where he can hide out from bad guys and hand out radios and tasers.

I used to work for cook county department of corrections. When I called a 10-1 in the 009 lockup,because a prisoner sat on the floor, the commander knew I did the right thing. Hes got my back 100 percent. A real standup guy. I call off so much and have negative time on the books he says nothing thats how great he is. 89 smoke breaks a day no problem. Showing up late everyday, who cares! Not me or my guy X, thats what I call him. So all the haters in the comments can go kick rocks. Have to agree. In more than 30 years I’ve never seen an FOP President fight like him. He’s just about perfect. I would like to see him sue the shit out of Lightfoot for everything related to her Covid mandates. She destroyed a lot of lives. Keep up the good work Jcat.
Remember Commanders need only 3 years not 4 pension wise. Look at his pension and compare that to a Captain or Lieutenant and he will be getting a lot more. In fact he will be getting a lot more and did not put that much more into the fund. Let’s see that chart. Further if he is unhappy being a Commander he can go back to his assigned rank and not his except rank. When he does not take furlough he is paid cash for those days. Please show us a chart for all the perks you get as a commander.

Curt worked in the fighting 020th District and considered himself the team Corporal when on Tact. He would browbeat and pressure super Sgt Wolf into doing whatever he wanted to and Wolf would say yest to be the cool Sgt as he walked around the station in his socks. Curtis was a legend in his own mind back then. We would chuckle and roll our eyes and avoid everything he was involved in..... As a sergeant, he stepped up and helped me out without any thought to how it would look for him or his future.. I can’t say that about another boss who knew I was a good worker and that I had his back on more than one occasion. That boss who ended his career was more worried about his pending promotion to Lieutenant rather than all the years I had his back. And yeah, you might want to wonder why our time is being heavily audited now- thanks to one Captain who retired making over $400k. I’m not saying the guy is perfect, but I’ve found the people on bs are usually the ones who hate him.

I'm retired, started in 1971. I saw all the FOP Presidents. All wearing custom 'Brooks Brothers' suits, never anything from Robert Hall. That's what they were suits, all show, no results. All benefits, all pay raises, all advancements were 'collective begging.' Not one FOP president ever challenged a mayor on anything...never...until J-Cat. Someone PROVE me wrong. But we had great picnics at Santa's Village and golf outings.
As long as J-Cat wears a coat, jacket, or shirt with a FOP ensign, he's in uniform and dressed appropriately.

Someone beat me to saying that J-Cat is the first FOP president to be able to put two words together and challenge the mayor. The mom's basement is so true especially the new generation scared to get out into the world,but then again many don't know if they are a man or woman today, many are confused so staying with mom and maybe dad makes they fell safe along with warm milk and cookies!
Cmon people, we have been only getting like 2% raises for how long now and all of a sudden were so happy with a 5% increase?? Yes, better than 2 but wtf? Teachers every contract get between 10-15% and were ok with 5%? Teachers were given hazard pay for Covid..were is ours?? Wake the fuck up idiots. If we didn't have DNC and a new mayor do you actually think for a moment we would have been given a 5% increase? How much money does our Union take from us each paycheck and we get what out of them? Open your eyes morons, if the Union wouldve negotiated better raises in the FIRST place, imagine what kind of deal we could get in other areas of the contract when the City came back and wanted "labor peace" for the next 4years.

Ive always said fop guys look out for fop guys FIRST, then its members 2nd. Dump fop and get a real union not a fraternal shitshow pretenders.
