Continuing Non Compliance
The Tribune notices something is amiss:
- A
federal judge in southern Illinois who earlier this year put a hold on
the state’s gun ban — a decision that was reversed on appeal — on
Tuesday heard arguments on a challenge to the registration process for
guns grandfathered in under the law.
U.S. District Judge Stephen McGlynn indicated he was not inclined to issue an injunction that would put off the Jan. 1 deadline for Illinois residents to register guns covered by the ban with Illinois State Police.
“I think that there’s a mess here and there’s some problems, and I haven’t made my mind up,” McGlynn said during a hearing in his East St. Louis courtroom. “But I do think that entering an injunction today may create more problems than it’s worth.”
More trouble because the US Supreme Court has requested briefs from the State of Illinois for an expedited hearing that might negate the entire endeavor.
And what did the Tribune notice? (They must be watching this youtube.com site)
The requirement that residents who owned guns banned as of Jan. 10, 2023, registered them with the state had met stiff resistance, although since the process began in Oct. 1 6,141 gun owners have registered nearly 12,100 guns and about 6,250 firearm accessories or other firearm components covered by the ban, according to state records from Dec. 8.
The degree of compliance is impossible to determine, but the number of people who had registered as of Dec. 8 represented just a little over 0.25% of the 2.4 million people in the state holding FOID cards, the state-mandated permits that authorize residents to own guns.
Compliance is at twenty-five-HUNDREDTHS of one-percent, meaning that roughly, if you have 10,000 citizens with an item to be registered, 9,975 of them are going to be felons starting on 01 January. And that's not even counting the criminals who wouldn't register anything anyway.
Well done Illinois. Well done.

How about showing the article on the cops from 005 that belong in prison
Loudly and publicly bitterly bitch about having to move your firearms and illicit accessories out of state. Make sure that the bitter ex-wife, brainwashed liberal spawn, progressive relatives, and nosy neighbors all know you moved it all out of state.
Then make sure your gun cabinets and gun safes look like you did!!! Clean them out! Remove any and all non compliant guns and accessories!
Store them elsewhere! Maybe in an out of state closet in a locked cabinet deep in a corner behind stacks and stacks of boxes, old crap, and old clothes and jackets. After all, since these firearms and related equipment are OUT OF STATE, you need to hide them since you are not always there to protect them!
Make sure your gun cabinet and safe are only full of COMPLIANT or properly registered items, just in case the ILL inois Stasi come calling. See! I am following the law! I moved it all out of state! Honest! Now, do you want to talk to my lawyer about harassment and false arrest!?!
Above all! Do not brag about putting one over on the Illinois State Police. They might want to make an example or two. Even if you win? It will be damned expensive, as in all your assets and a million dollars in debt even if you win; and locked in a cage with criminal scum if you lose.
I told a State Police buddy that I have 4 extended magazines from my days on the road, is that registered?
The wonderful state to our West IOWA, The Governor said why should we require our citizens to register anything & more importantly why would we charge those citizens for cards, permits etc since the constitution has already addressed the topic in the Bill of Rights. Now there is a governor I could get behind. The only reason to get behind fatass is to hide from robbers, car jackers and other criminal types.
Register illegals, not guns !
Only...a idiot or democrat will register their guns,... Fuck Them.
Register toilets, not guns
Not registering shit....
Now go get your fucking shine box....
.
Here's an idea, just throwing this out there, how about if we lock up the criminals ?
I really need to be paid for this advice,...please pay me. Don't make me take legal action.
.
Ask the Dutch how all that Gun Registration stuff worked out in the Summer of 1940?
Just wait for the scumbag officers who are going to sell their souls to be in some special enforcement unit making law abiding citizens into felons just to be able to wear blue jeans. Anyone who enforces this garbage, well I hope you get what you deserve! Two oaths in my life and they both started with, "support and defend the Constitution of the United States!" Don’t expect me to back you up, EVER!
I almost wish I lived closer to an Illinois border than two states away. Imagine the business opportunities for high security storage just across the state lines?
Here is a question?
Do you register all of it? Or just one or two firearms you really want available to you after January 1?
....guess they will result to looking at 4473's .....
Be ready,...they want those guns, before you get in the boxcar....errr...relocation bus
.
Gov. Lardass can eat another bucket of raw steaming shit.....
Along with every corrupt hack who signed this shit
Let me say this.....Go Fuck Yourself.
Now What fatass...
.
Fuck your register....
Try to come and take them....
Do you feel lucky,...Well do you PUNK !
.
Did the community and hood get the ...word...on this ?
.

These teams will be created and told to assist ISP, without a doubt guys will be jumping on it, but a PTSD vet might just blow some brains out with a 556 or 762 one day and the entire confiscation operation will be scrapped. Oh well I won’t feel bad and I wont care, I’m moving to TN soon. IL can go fuck itself
The only thing I enjoy about times like these is the resale market on magazines.
Back in 1994, I sold my Colt AR-15, which I paid $450 new, for $1200 used. Deals can be made today. Those $10 mags can sell for $50 today..
Retired and a snowbird in Florida. Flew down 2 weeks ago and while waiting for the plane to empty watched the ramp rats unloading the luggage.
Saw a lot of PELICAN hard cases sized for AR type of weapons being unloaded....
A LOT of them. People are simply moving them out of state.
.25% is it?! I’ve had a higher BAC leaving the speak easy after a couple “sodas” than .25!
When they send me up the river for owning firearms I purchased 20+ years ago with state approval and paid state sales taxes on as well, I'm gonna start a senior citizens club. I'm gonna call it "Gray Bar Seniors". All inmates over the age of 55 will be invited to join.
Your math is a bit off: .25% of FOID holders have registered affected weapons, not .25% of owners of these weapons. I am pretty sure that not every FOID holder owns the affected weapons.
It looks like only 0.25% of the 2.4 million FOID card holders have banned weapons. That's good news. The danger was far less than anticipated, and since they are all registered now, Illinois will be the safest State in the nation.
Maybe next year they can amend the law to include Non-FOID card holders.
... 16.2 Million American veterans that know how to use a rifle, took an oath with no expiration date, "... defend it from all enemies foreign and domestic ..."
Things could get really ugly, really fast if Gov. Lard ass pushes his luck trying to set an example.
No sense of reality at all.
I gotta believe SCOTUS will overturn this disaster.
Then Gov. Lard Ass can complain that he tried to protect us but was hornswoggled by the evil "Far Right Wing" SCOTUS.
"a PTSD vet might just blow some brains out with a 556 or 762 one day and the entire confiscation operation will be scrapped."
SCRAPPED?!?!?
The Democrats are hoping, no SALIVATING Over the thought of some stupid schmuck veteran getting ratted out by his "concerned" relative who knows about his AR-15, and calls the cops. Then the ISP can try to take away his dangerous guns that never harmed a flea.
Sure, the first five or dozen confiscations may be peaceful, but eventually they will hit the jackpot. They will get their guns and get their guy, but how many will he take with him? Ready for the funerals? Ready for the "End of Watch?" Are you going to drive a squad car in their funeral procession?
Ready for the Illinois Democrats to use that as an excuse to confiscate everything you registered? Obviously every gun owner is CRAAAZZZEEE! We need to confiscate ALL the guns!!! Right now! Pass that bill at midnight again, and you know Fat Ass will sign it! Then it will be "ALL HANDS ON DECK!!" Get out there and get those guns from every FOID Owner! Do you think CPD SWAT will be the only ones serving those seizure warrants?
Can't happen you say? The court will protect us you say? Gun Registration is illegal! It was illegal on January 10th! But have you registered your guns yet? You have only two more weeks ...
How long til the department creates a unit of brown shirt, brown nosers, to go door to door and collect peoples guns or their freedom?? Everyone talks a good game, but there will be no shortage of 2 and 3 year wonders and unit people looking for their next spot.
is governor pritzker registered at weight watchers?

Things never get really ugly, really fast, in any quantity great enough to cock block the gun grabbers agendas.
When your own State's Supreme Court fails to void out unconstitutional laws, you are living in the wrong place at the wrong time for our nation's Bill of Rights to be anything, to you, other then the nothing it is to them.
I have better idea and that is to move to the great State of Iowa!
Iowa is a bright Red, Right leaning state!
No registering weapons!
No Stupid FOID cards!
Iowa follows the U.S. Constitution and the 2nd Amendment!
Iowa just got rid of all State taxes on Pensions, 401K's, 457 and I.R.A. and Social Security signed into law by the Governor of Iowa and that new law started in Jan 2023!
Seems that Iowa is doing way better than Illinois, in terms of protecting their U.S. citizens and NOT giving money to illegal alien criminals!
Are active and retired police exempt from this?
FUCK JB
So glad I got the fuck out of that shit state.
Are active and retired police exempt from this?
Yes, that is also part of the lawsuit, but at present LEOs are exempt.

Yes and yes
As taught in the academy as a “catch-all” to create personal accountability-
“You are not required to obey an unlawful order, and acting unlawfully simply because you were ordered to is not a defense of your actions”.
Push comes to shove, it is an illegal order.
No matter who orders it you are not bound to follow it.
Whether you keep “your spot” or not for doing the right thing is another story altogether.
Does not apply to Qualified law enforcement officers and qualified
retired law enforcement officers as defined in the Law
Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004 (18 U.S.C. 926B and 926C)
Retired officers pay attention to this Law? You are now exempt from registering any firearm! But ISP has been asked this question during the past Q&A sessions. And they are now replying that retired LEO should register the firearm????
The reason is there is no State wide qualification for Rifle for LEO and there is no qualification for retired LEO?
Question is who is qualified?
Remember every October the ISP can review and update this law?
I have property in another state and have the option of relocating property and equipment, what can we expect when and if ATF Form 4473’s gets “accidentally “ leaked to the ISP and someone comes knocking? I know I won’t even answer the door without seeing a legitimate search warrant in my ring camera. Back in my early 1801 days, we did cold calls w/o legal writs all the time.
