With Stacy Davis Gates as president, the Chicago Teachers Union for the first time reported spending more money than it took in during its 2023 fiscal year, according to a report the union filed last month with the U.S. Department of Labor.
It underscores members’ concerns about union leaders failing to properly handle union funds or to provide required reporting to members.
Specifically, CTU reported receipts of $35,506,529 in 2023. But it spent nearly a half million dollars more than that, reporting $35,996,684 in disbursements.
Additionally:
- ....the union has failed to provide its audits to members for at least four years, according to a CTU member who requested the audits in a private Facebook group for CTU members.
And the head of the union has failed to pay government levies in two states despite a salary of nearly $300K?

OT: bump cards. I’m confused. I read the amc announcement and are they saying everyone needs to get new bump cards starting at the beginning of the year? I just got mine in November and it says it’s good for 2 years. Now I need to go back to the dr to get another note saying I can’t shave or wear PPE? Wtf is going on here. Mine says good for 2 years, issued by the dept. write me up and I’ll grieve it. This shit is getting ridiculous.

And as an added bonus these Fruits of your labor will be able to properly identify the correct genders, appropriate pronouns and conforming identities contained in your cover page, footnotes and end notes providing correctness. Diversity, Inclusion and Equity in an annual statement. Its a win-win!

Aren't most of the Chicago Teacher's Union officials proud graduates of CPS? Maybe they should crack open a schoolbook and attends a refresher home economics course re-learning how to balance those checkbooks. Balance those financial scales or the scales of justice make not tip in your favor. You better get some re-education or else you gonna get some incarceration.
Here is a suggestion. Go to the up and coming O'Bama library and check out books on the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Remember this Act was written when board members and assorted executives used deception and trickery to enrich themselves and then used fraudulent business techniques to cover up the losses. So get to the historical presidential like library built on Park District land and get your nose in the books. Knowledge is power. You are privileged enough to reach into the cookie jar and get you some extra fixins, so don't cry when you are caught. Don't do a crime if you can't do the time.
Question is how much of the Chicago Teacher's Union money is funneled to democratic candidate's private political campaign coffers? Or a legal defense fund for CPS sexual predators? Inquiring minds want to know.

The Steinmetz HS Local School Council (LSC) were supposed to vote this past week to approve a $4000 budget transfer presented by their principal (Anna Vilchez) to pay for food for Steinmetz teachers and staff at their Professional Development Day on Friday, December 22nd. However, the LSC couldn't vote on the transfer because 9/15 of their LSC members were absent and they didn't have a meeting quorum to vote on anything.
I call bullshit on the 'All Day' thing as teachers and staff are ready to swipe out by Noon the day before Winter Break and most schools have their clerks swipe out everyone after the last school bell while teachers and staff trickle out way before then.
The 'All Day' designation is a way to circumvent a CPS Policy that was put in place in 2015 after CPS principals spent $3M on catered food for their teachers and staff. Some stipulation is in place for schools to provide food for teachers and staff if they attend 'All Day' meetings. Ask any teacher, these meetings never go all day long.

Steinmetz has 128 employees and their principal was asking for taxpayers' funds to be used to feed her teachers and staff at a cost of $32 per when 50% of them make over $100K and 75% make over $75K. This while Steinmetz still has 12-14 known CPS Residency violators with 4 of them being departments or programs chairs.
Just think how many of the 400 CPS schools are still using taxpayers' funds to pay for catered food for their teachers and staff.

How about CPS stopping the selective enrollment schools? If u lived in a nice neighborhood, made a certain amount of money and were white you didn’t stand a chance of getting in anyway. So screw it. If it were actually fair and kids made it strictly by their grades and scores then yes, I’d be all for it. Better competition pushes kids to do better.

Did I leave something out> What else could go wrong?

CPS only pays SDG $1/yr while she's on LOA to the CTU.
What CPS needs to do is stop giving her pension credits whole on LOA from SDG lying that her Indiana residence was her primary residence to get the property tax break. That's fraud.
CPS OIG William Fletcher claims fraud is why he went after the 11-14 highest paid CPS employees for PPP fraud. Even though, Fletcher could only go after them for not having secondary employment approval for overstating income to real and fake businesses, mostly because Fletcher was out of his jurisdiction.
