ARS Safety Issue
More crime by the Callback Unit:
- I am writing this email to notify the members of our unit that yesterday we had two 3rd watch officers the victims of crimes yesterday. One incident was an attempt robbery, where a weapon was implied and the other was an aggravated assault near Jackson and Halsted in which an offender pointed a firearm at our officer. The attempt robbery occurred just outside of our lot on Polk Street. Luckily our officers were not injured. Please be careful when leaving on your breaks and lunches. This is the 3rd incident we have had in recent months. Let a co-worker know where you are going and try to go with someone if possible. Always be aware of your surroundings. I have reached out to the 12th District in the past and will again about a Special Attention in our are and our facility. Look after one another and please have a safe and happy holiday season.
It's important to be aware over that direction because a lot of the Officers there are stripped of police powers, and that includes carrying. We reported on the carjacking attempt a few months ago, so things don't appear to have gotten better.

When I was stripped I immediately got my concealed carry license. ARS is an area of high opportunity for Will.

On duty Police officers robbed, of guns and full auto-long rifle in car by pack of teens....
Police station taken over.....
Gun stores being robbed....
Take over robberies .....

Crime is at such a level that police officers are becoming victims more than most might realize. I wish everyone a safe holiday season and a safe new year! May everyone make it to retirement and beyond.
Chicago is turning into a 3rd world shithole where even being armed doesn't make you safe. When I must go east of Harlem or south of north av I carry a serious gun, bring few valuables and drive my oldest car.
When police aren't safe, the average citizen doesn't stand a chance.
I would sugggest that anyone down at ARS and are stripped, consider getting a CCW permit.
Lol you oh int cops outside of their stations. No fear for good reasons cops afraid to do anything and judges let them go in unlikely event they get arrested. Why are we paying for police and entire justice system?

I have noticed alot of NEW officer just don't carry guns off duty.OR ANY WEAPON. they also walk around off duty in streets with the iPhone stuck in there hand...sit at 35th street for 10 minutes it's a chronic problem.
Maybe instead of having a car guarding the migrants, we have a fixed post there. Unbelievable

Why? You don’t need one, being an leo grants you the right to carry in more places than a ccl would allow. If you get stripped and have a ccl and carry a firearm and something happens, I can guarantee the department will come after you so you will have an even bigger problem.

I have 10 plus years on never carry off duty. Or to or from work. Live scared if you choose. Jacko says my best weapon are my legs. Carrying a gun is much too cumbersome. I'll just run away.
I'm to the point of I don't give a fuck any more, god forbid someone points a gun at me in uniform or not. I guess I'll be the next news sensation because that particular future doctor lol is not going home to momma. And I am not going to jail, HE,HE,HA,HA.......
We have a lot of great people here that are really just victims of the moron's at COPA who are just busy suck starting each others rectums. Why can't we get a marked car with lights on to wander these areas?! These are OUR people.
