Of course, Interim Fred made more than a few moves before he "left" for his six-figure pension...and got re-hired at six-figures, essentially doubling his annual salary.

We are ****short**** the following:

> 38 Lieutenants
> 124 Sergeants

> 25 Evidence Technicians
All of this is BEFORE the January/February retirement waves and BEFORE the May supervisor retirements (which will be larger than usual because of the DNC).

First of all, who's going to be dumb enough to open a business in an area where crime is the number one pastime? Second of all, why is bad parenting never considered a "root cause" in these articles?
833 police officers eliminated from the 2024 budget. So that means 1800 short plus the 833 that are gone. Almost like a tiny dancer 9.5 magic show.
Can’t wait to see how much more “diversity” they add to the command staff.
Obviously it works out so well.
This whole thing is sickening to watch, and the sad part is that no one from the media cares to expose the shenanigans.
The amount of inadequacy, incompetence, fuckery and favors that take place while rising through the ranks is embarrassing.
Every single time a list comes out I find myself shaking my head saying “How TF did S/HE make it?”
For a while it was confusing, then it was infuriating, then it made me sad to think about what it’s become, and now I’m pretty much over it. I’ve come to the fact that this department is ruined far past the point of being fixed in my short time left here.
The biggest problem for the future is that each of these incompetent merit hacks at the top are all getting merit picks themselves. So this problem will compound through the future as I’m sure these current goofs aren’t picking the crème of the crop either.

Correction…we are not short 1st Deputy, Deputy Chiefs, Commanders or Captains. We have way way too many to begin with. More need to be cut. We definitely don’t need a 1st Deputy. Hope Jason Brown gets promoted again.
He retired because they passed him up multiple times on promotions. He left with a salty taste in his mouth.
