How Very....Odd (UPDATE)
We heard about some shooting in Europe - fourteen dead in Prague, so we went to the sidebar of the blog to check the news links.
Channel 2, Channel 5, Channel 7, Channel 9, Channel 32, Slum Times, Tribune....and guess what we found?
- nothing, not a single mention on their main pages
In less than twenty-four hours, all coverage from the Chicago media disappeared, if it existed at all.
We even went to ::puke:: CNN to look around, There was a single mention of "Stories you may have missed" at the very bottom of their page, approximately thirteen clicks down.
We're told mass shootings never happen in Europe. Seems the media here and nationally is making sure that anything contrary to that narrative is not easily seen.
UPDATE: More than a couple of comments saying "Just search Google" or "such-and-such had a couple stories just the other day."
No shit.
That wasn't the point. The point was that in under twenty-four hours, all mention was GONE from the front pages of the local media. They spout the national line for "mass shootings" in an effort to curb everyone's 2A Rights, but ignore the weekly carnage in Chicago every single day.
Hell, they're mentioning Jon Burge thirty years after he was fired for their narratives, but not a European shooting that goes against everything they've been telling us for years.
Our point was the media dishonesty.

The Czech Republic? Yea, they have a right-to-keep-and-bear-arms, but only if you get scoped and pass a test. Not as good as we have it in the free areas of the USA, but a damned sight better than the UK.
The reason you're not seeing anything in local news is obvious; there's no “Chicago connection.”

It was all over Fox News when it first happened. The shooter also killed his father in that building (a professor I believe) before the shooter was “neutralized”
FYI. The Daily Herald,a suburban paper, did carry the story on page two.
The Lamestream Media's only purposes is to make normal people look bad.

The lamestream media ignores or distorts anything that goes against the narrative that Europe is better than the USA. This recent unfortunate shooting, Scandinavian no-go cities, Muslim men grooming non-Muslim girls or sexually assaulting random non-Muslim women and pre-pubescent boys when the opportunity exists.
Public education might be better overall in Europe, but large-city public school systems lower the results for the USA. For example, CPS/CTU.
And yes, European higher education might be low-cost or free to the individual student, but someone pays the taxes, and higher education is highly selective. It's not like here, where a low-performing student can get admitted to a wide range of diploma mills and run up student debt for a degree that does not lead to a lucrative career.
What are you talking about this was all over the news - WGN website had at least 4 stories on it, Trib ran a story on Thursday afternoon.
I don't believe Sun-Times had anything, but that's no surprise, these days they barely cover anything outside of Cook County.
But I just go straight to apnews.com regardless. Proper reporting that's not buried in a bunch of ads. Half the stories in any other "paper" are usually just reprints from AP anyway, and usually shortened.

Why would you depend on the local news media to give you detailed coverage for world events? This story is not unique in that national and international events are often pushed off these apps quickly to make way for local stuff.

Much national/international news of any consequence is gone from the front page of the local apps after a day or so. Why would anyone expect this story to be any different?
