Nice Job

Take the praise wherever you can find it:

  • A Chicago police officer is being lauded for going above and beyond the call of duty when she helped deliver a baby to a young couple while at the scene of a shooting.

Field training officer Josie Christopher declined the label of "hero" for helping a young couple in distress.

"Any officer would have done what I did," she said. "She was very scary. I was very scared. I had never done anything like this before. It was just the right place at the right time.

The 17th District officer and two of her fellow cops assigned to the Albany Park police station were honored for their exceptional actions Friday.

Switching from a "shooting scene mode" to an "assist mode" might seem difficult to an outsider, but it's what cops are expected to do and all personnel were up to the task.

Well done.

See? I told you all that life saving / CPR / Tactical Mindset Warrior Training we practiced on the desk between eating great meals, smoke breaks and Discus biz would pay off some day. All kidding aside, great job Josie! (PS - I heard they named the baby Katie).

I think delivering a baby would be more stressful of the two!

Nice job to Christopher and Sullins. Chicago Police Officers do amazing things all the time, and it isn't always reported. You think superheroes only wear capes? Many wear stars and just plain do the right thing. This Christmas, if you see the Cops working, wave or give them a thumbs up. God bless the Chicago Police Department.

Josie was one of my better FTO's when I was assigned to 017. I personally witnessed her on a few scenes where she went above and beyond, specifically a tragic scene where a retired PO had taken his own life. She was very compassionate with the widow, and made things run smoothly. Great job again Josie!

I saw the live feed of this event. I'm glad the outcome was a win-win. But they began to praise this Department as the "finest" department in the country.

I think that was a stretch...at least two of them had some time on the job. Really??? Did they serve Kool-aide before the cameras showed up???

When that 9 month, give or take, lease expires, eviction from the comfy condo is not negotiable, nor delayed.

Time, tide, and birth wait for no one.

Basic instincts kick on, as in, first, do no harm, aka, do not drop the baby, por favor.

That warm, fuzzy feeling in spirit is well deserved.

The bonus for the newly born: Birthday followed by Christmas!!!

Well done indeed. The police I know in Atlanta still get a lump in their throat talking about the "missing and murdered kids" they pulled from rivers from decades ago. And, no, it wasn't the FBI profilers who found him.

Great job!
I hope you feel even happier than I am for you!
You were at the right place at the right time and rocked it!

What a Christmas present for the parents and PO’s

As I always say, you matter to those that matter.

I believe I've signed next to Josie a few times with my son. We are running out of good teachers, lets give them the praise that they deserve.
