In a move that could reshape Chicago Public Schools to align with Mayor Brandon Johnson’s vision, CPS officials are telling principals to prepare for the possible removal of police officers stationed in school buildings by next fall.
CPS officials recently told principals that school board members don’t support having Chicago police officers in schools, WBEZ has confirmed with one principal present at the meeting. The news was first reported last week by Nadig Newspapers, a local paper covering Chicago’s Northwest Side.
For the last few years, local school councils have had the power to vote whether to keep police officers, known as school resource officers, in their schools. When he was running for mayor, Johnson declared that “armed officers have no place in schools in communities already struggling with over-incarceration, criminalization, profiling and mistrust.” But upon taking office, Johnson said he was OK with LSCs choosing whether to keep officers.
The school board will vote this summer whether to renew the $10.3 million police contract.
They'll vote it down of course. Never mind that all those school security officers are mostly off duty sheriff and suburban cops. They'll get CPD out of the schools and the Department will get back about fifty-five officers just in time for the convention riots.
On an unrelated note, we heard somewhere around fifty-five officers of all ranks are retiring or being mandatory retired in January. Who has the numbers?

Since the presence of the visible police is racist let’s get rid of the details at City Hall, CTA, Airports, Courts anywhere they can be seen. In fact darken the squad car windows so they can’t be seen.
Little did we know police presence is racist. We don’t want those racists scaring the bejesus out of everyone. The mayor is such a visionary and brilliant to boot. It must come from the brain matter that is growing on the peak of his head.
New law that went into effect last Summer. Minnesota School Resource Officers (sworn officers), security guards and teachers are not allowed to restrain or take down students in schools, and they and the departments are civilly liable for injuries and mental distress of the students.
About 80% of the Departments pulled their SROs within a month before or after school started.

I know of a copper that we call Miss vacation who has four kids in the Chicago public indoctrination centers. Her husband is a police supervisor , plenty of money rolling in whenever she goes on vacation. She does it when everybody else is in school pulls All the kids out of school. Because she says it’s easier to go when everybody else is in school they’re not learning much or anything anyway in school so she pulls them out for weeks at a time as they go on vacation they make plenty of money but yet they decide to spend the money on vacations for themselves and their kids and not spend the money on getting them a good education which is very important as we all know so we have some coppers that are as dumb as the people we deal with on a regular basis!
55 in January seems to be a very small #, I know at least 5-6 myself. In 1995 they hired a lot of cops. These retirement numbers will be naturally high due to people maxing out all year long.

Officers, take your time responding to the 911 calls at the schools even for gun calls. Obey ALL traffic laws and speeds, between 10-20 mph is about as fast as you should go, if back up is coming do not go in until you have all arrived on scene. We would lije to be viewed as “rascist” by rushing in like a bunch of jackbooted thugs.

I heard Mayor Conehead's new education initiative is to repurpose the traditional "dunce hat" that students used to wear in shame as they sat in the classroom corner. Now, it will be worn with pride in every classroom to show support and solidarity for Mayor Conehead's stupid ideas. You have a great point, they could hire "security" for 1/3 what we are paid, with all the connected forms out there why not? Also cut brandons secret service size detail to 1/4 he has literally a platoon at his disposal. Crazy how during the warmer months brandon decided to bicycle near his home/hood, and his detail guys were bitching they were scared what could happen,oh and tired and broke a slight sweat! Oh forgot they had the gas guzzling suburbans following the bicycles with cold water such ridiculous stupidity!

Why does CTU increase security when the delegates meet? Maybe they are afraid of those questions that some of the delegates ask regarding CTU financials.
Why does CTU need all of that security on a daily basis?

The CTU members screaming to get rid of the police either teach at selective enrollment schools where discipline issues are minor or are the "teachers" who have so little classroom management skills that the SRO has worn a path in the asbestos tile to his classroom.
