Off Duty Shoots Back

Looks like no hits, no runs, no errors:

  • The Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating after an off-duty Chicago police officer was involved in a Tuesday afternoon shooting on the city's Southwest Side.

CPD said it happened in the 7200 block of South Spaulding Avenue in the city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

An off-duty officer encountered an armed person, and there was an exchange of gunfire, police said. The armed person fled the scene, and no injuries were reported.

Looks like thirty days off the street though - not a bad deal with the weather coming in next week.

Glad the officer was not hurt, AND no bystanders were harmed either. I hope he or she spends some time with an instructor at the range.

I hate to say it; this is getting to be more common than we would like. Please be safe out there. That also goes for your family who don’t have all the insight that comes with being the police. I pray all the good people to have a safe life.

How much you want to bet that COPA is going to find a way to screw over the off duty copper over this shooting!

I would not be surprised that 30 days off, would be pending separation under COPA!

No way will this Mayor or his people, step up for the off duty officer and back him up with this shooting!

Let us all guess probably a car jacking or the copper prevented somebody from getting ventilated. Hope that copper turns out OK on the paperwork because the bastardization of the Chicago police continues. Let’s see what the civilian goofballs do with this. The connected clouted people who are clueless.

Criminals can do whatever they want to coppers look at this threaten to kill a cop or smash them in the face break his glasses, multiple lacerations and they walk thanks to JB and the Democrats safety act non detainable offense:

Man set to be released under SAFE-T Act for attacking officer in Fox River Grove ordered held after court comments

Kinney turned to a Fox River Grove officer and said, “I’ll kill you mother f—er,” according to the complaint.

Kinney then struck an officer in the face with an open hand, leaving the officer with lacerations to the face, the complaint said.

The officer was wearing eyeglasses, which broke when Kinney struck him in the face, the complaint said. The eyeglasses were valued at more than $500.

So they put him in jail only because he made vulgar comments in the quart room not in jail for what he did to the copper what a upside down world God bless the copper. Hopefully he is OK.

That's not how the old west movies ended, no one wounded, no one shot. Who's training police in marksmanship?

What wrong with 30 days at the range?

Guys, you've got to make those shots count by getting hits on target. Get to the range.

Not real accurate to say no errors if your guy got no hits in.

Quebec police urge the public not to post footage of thieves stealing packages from their houses because it can be a violation of private life.

Was at Shore Galleries range for practice. You can't believe how many people can't shoot.
The test for an Illinois concealed carry permit is only 10 rounds at 5 yards, then 10 at 7 yards and finally 10 at 10 yards. How can you fail that?

I am so glad you were there to critique the officer’s performance. No, you say were not there? That’s right because if you were there you would have experienced the same accelerated heart beat the officer felt, the adrenaline rush, the narrowing of the eyes to square in the offender in and the quick thinking and application of training needed to survive the situation. Sometimes you just are not in a good position to get a good shot off. Sometimes it takes more of you falling back on your training to get out of a situation like this. Obviously you who made the above comment are not only a civilian, but judging they way you said the last part of your comment sounds like a lawyer as well and not a very good one at that.

Training what training? Many of the coppers have no idea how a weapon functions. Look at all the "little people" they have hired, who have so much on their vests you look like the old RIP Ray Raynor, with al his notes taped on, the vests are so small they are doll sized like the people they hired! Its all about diversity not a skill-set!

Spot on! This department has turned into a real bumbling clown show. They have to make the annual firearm qualifications even easier now for officers to pass. I'm more worried about getting shot during quals by the pants-on-the-head retard in the booth next to me. Also not uncommon to see a CPD squad rolling around without a driver now (sorry...the officer is so short you can't see them behind the wheel). Make no mistake the CALEA departments and the FBI going back to 9mm has been a step backwards because the new officers and agents coming on the job can't shoot. Meanwhile Dude Inc. is getting practice with a wide variety of firearms on the street each passing summer.
