- 38 in Illinois
- 34 within a 30 miles radius of State / Madison
And of those 34, here's a sampling of available rooms downtown:
- Hyatt Centric, Mag Mile - 419 Guest Rooms
- Hyatt Place, River North - 212 Guest Rooms
- Park Hyatt - 146 Guest Rooms and 36 Suites
- Hyatt Place, Downtown/The Loop - 206 Guest Rooms
- Hyatt House, West Loop/Fulton Market - 200 Guest Rooms
That's over 1,200 rooms and suits in just FIVE downtown hotels.
Add in the Hyatt Regency O'Hare, and that's an additional 1,095 rooms just at O'Hare.

On a side note the operator of a Hilton Hotel in San Francisco has announced that they are walking away from the mortgage. Letting the bank take the property.

How much money has the city spent on that already? And much more are they going to spend in the future?
