Altgeld hasn't changed:
- Chicago police officers exchanged gunfire with a suspect before taking them into custody Wednesday morning in Altgeld Gardens on the city's Far South Side.
Officers were responding to shots fired around 1:50 a.m. in the 700 block of East 131st Street traded shots with a gunman who fled the scene on foot, according to police.
Moments later, the suspect was arrested by responding officers and a weapon was recovered from the scene, police said. There were no reported injuries.
But thirty days off the street in winter.

The Altgled Gardens or Alligator Gardens, hasn’t changed. I remember Micky Ray (patrolman 1968 - 2003) having his Squad car getting shot up in the 70’s as he was driving threw there. Him and his partner where lucky they weren’t shot when the bad guys set up an ambush for the police. In the 60’s and 70’s criminals would set traps for the police.
Alligator Gardens can’t wait for that Red Line extension!

Got lucky on this one, bad guy was posted around the corner with gun drawn waiting for pursuing officers. Luckily the SDSC room caught him on camera and gave officers the heads up

She's very arrogant and cocky. Sometimes I wonder if she has one. And said favoritism in that district is unreal - rookies working the desk, radio room and sdsc room.
Hell, 3-4 year wonders working the radio, desk and sdsc room. 18 month-2 year wonders getting "no job" rapids and using their 10 blue card knee pad special in -10 degrees. Then you have a recent merit white-t who manipulates these kids to be 06 or tac with him and fk the other beats and FTOs cause "he knows people". He thinks he passed on score and his sht don't stink. Well when you ask the zone to stack a wrong district job in your box, you have to question who promoted this joke. When we had real leaders on the Chicago police department that area for weeks after would’ve been flooded everything from parking tickets moving violations, searches, whatever it takes to put so much pressure on them so they know who the biggest gang in Chicago is! Now we have no leaders completely leaderless by the way, where is Fred big paycheck? The bigger question is what does he know about the superintendent and the exempt staff that he is still being kept on the payroll inquiring minds would like to know.

I think when President Trump is back in office, he will do everything to pull federal funding for Democratic sanctuary cities. The Red Line extension will end up partially finished as the money dries up and is used to finish the southern border wall.
What CPD needs is a surplus AC-130 Spectre gunship to orbit the City at night as aerial backup. A burst of 20mm with tracers would give any Ghetto rat religion.

I hope you’re not serious. Why should innocent people suffer because one asshole decided to shoot at the police? It’s not like the guy’s in the wind and being sheltered in the Gardens - he’s in custody so why apply pressure? How about the courts do their jobs and hold criminals accountable? Then maybe people will think twice about trying to harm the police. You should’ve joined the Gaylords if you wanted to be in a gang.
Thought police shootouts were prohibited under the new Federal Consent Decree?
