Covering Chicago stories the local media sweeps under the rug:
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has been criticized for refusing to be completely transparent on where hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars have gotten to the city's homeless shelters amid a migrant crisis.
The Windy City has struggled to care for more than 34,000 asylum-seekers bussed in from the border by Texas Governor Greg Abbott over the past 18 months.
It has spent $300 million on the crisis and has been fighting with the state of Illinois about where to build more shelters and is currently fighting a measles outbreak at one of the shelters.

This isn't unique to Chicago. New York is giving away $53 million:
The Adams administration launched its program to give prepaid debit cards to New York City migrants this week — two months after inking a controversial no-bid $53 million contract for the deal. Staffers with the New Jersey company, Mobility Capital Finance, handed out eight preloaded Mastercards at the Roosevelt Hotel on Monday as part of its pilot program that will expand to 115 cards by next week, according to a City Hall spokesperson.
The one-year deal came under fire after The Post first revealed the contract was inked without a typical bidding process. The program could be a boon for the tech start-up, giving it the potential to net $1.8 million by taking a cut of the funds loaded onto each Mastercard, according to the contract.
The administration scaled back the original plan, which would have loaded up the cards with a month’s worth of money for food and baby supplies. Cash will now need to be replenished each week. A family with two parents and kids under five will receive about $350 a week, the spokesperson said.
The Post was unable to track down any of the migrant families who received the cards Monday. Even the staffers at the Roosevelt Hotel said they weren’t aware the cards had been handed out.
The media can't find any of the recipients and the hotel didn't hear of the program? Any bets on how many cards just disappeared into pockets?

I worked in the mining industry before I was a cop. I traveled all over to rural areas.i visited 40 states by the time I was 35. I was always surprised how out of town media, (NY, LA) fairly portrayed Chicago issues without bias. It was refreshing and revealing.
Cannot tell you how often I will look at Sky News Austraila or DailyWire.

The mayor should let the illegals stay in the schools. After all, school is only open during the day. Why not utilize all that space during the afternoons, and overnight hours? They have all the amenities like water and food services. All they need is a cot.

Returning from a trip to Mexico and going through customs at Midway a plane of illegals just unloaded. They were ushered right through customs and we saw them again in the baggage area.
