A man just released from prison for domestic assault has been arrested after an 11-year-old boy was killed and his pregnant mother critically wounded inside their home on the North Side Wednesday, officials said.
The suspect, 37, has a long criminal history that dates back to at least 2004 in Cook County. He has been convicted of domestic battery and violating orders of protection in several cases. No charges had been announced as of Wednesday evening.
And....:
The suspect was most recently convicted of aggravated domestic battery home invasion and possession of a stolen motor vehicle in 2017. State prison records show the suspect was paroled Tuesday from the Stateville Correctional Center, where he had been held since Feb. 1.
He previously noted in a filing in an ongoing civil rights lawsuit against state prison officials that he had been released from prison on Oct. 6. It's unclear why he was sent back to prison in the same case. Officials with the Illinois Department of Corrections, the state Prisoner Review Board and the Cook County state's attorney's office didn't respond to questions.
But of course, no "truth in sentencing" laws will be proposed and no return to a Death Penalty statute. Hell, even "life in prison" has no meaning in a democrat run $hithole state.
Just keep piling up the dead bodies.

Half measures are feeble enough.
Half-assed measures are fucking an obamanation.
That passerby would have provided the needed full measure.
Too bad that one was busy.
Am I missing something here. I don’t remember seeing the suspect’s (offender) name in the story but the juvenile murder victim’s name is. Are we protecting his rights?!!!!!
Between abortion, fentynal, murder and the way they drive I'm really surprised anyone is left in the overserved community. If there was only some way to bring new faces into the city to pump the numbers back up.........
Keep dating abusive thugs because "he loves" you and he buys you things. Now your 11 year old is dead and you might be on your way out with your unborn child. I'm sure at least some of the previous arrests and orders of protection involved the same victim and offender, but she probably kept him around for "love" and money. It's not worth it, ladies. It's not worth letting them impregnate you in the first place either, but that's a whole other lecture. Yes, I'm victim-blaming, because no one holds the offender or those who keep releasing him accountable. Someone has to take some blame, and the victim deserves a piece of that.
When the states attorney and the judges break the law, by refusing to enforce the law, there is no war, only a struggle for us to survive. They are elected to positions to do their jobs if they were anywhere else any other type of position of power in any private industry, they would’ve been terminated a long time ago, and prosecuted if someone was killed or injured due to their incompetence!
Looks like he’s headed back to idoc for a bit of quality sit down time
That Dirty Harry movie where he cased down SFPD hit squad comes to mind as idea whose time is long past due. Thoughts?
another special crimesha offender getting pampered and then causing havoc to innocent victims. great job!!! the experiment is not working but yet they keep doubling down

The Judges and courts should be held accountable for releasing these savage violent criminals back in society without doing any kind of jail time etc… Nope! “Police are the problem”.
To the poster who says the victim has some responsibility here: I remember decades ago being told, “The first time he hits you, you are a victim. If you stay, for any subsequent violence you’re a volunteer.” I truly don’t understand the women who not only keep going back for more but then have multiple kids with their abusers! A lot of these women say that they are afraid that if they leave, he will kill them. But it’s clear that at some point he’s already going to kill you! If you truly believe he will kill you, why don’t you run as far away from him as you can get?
That said, why on earth would the parole board let this guy out? Is it because he is capable of being a good boy when surrounded by violent nutjobs who are way bigger than he is? What is the matter with the people on parole boards?

A man's GOT to know his limitations.
Also true for a broad, yet, broads are legendarily stooborn in their denials of this.

Maybe they'll have him put together a resume and a vision board.
No such thing as life in prison anymore in all the blue states. NY just paroled a mob hitman who admitted to torturing and killing 11 people. Gacy was born in the wrong decade!

News report I saw said they weren't naming him yet because he hasn't been charged. As for the victim, I don't think dead people are afforded privacy protection. I'm not defending any of this, just surmising.

The offender is not White. If he was the media wouldn't care if he was charged or not and have his face all over TV. Therefore he is black.

Life in prison means absolutely nothing here in Illinois. If someone gets sentenced to life, that means he is usually out in 20-25 years. I recall prisoners getting sentenced to 150 years but they are out in 20. Of course, if they serve 25+ years, then they file a motion that the police beat them to confess and in this state his conviction gets thrown out altogether.
Solid work from ATC unit.

It means something if you die there.
