As readers know, this week has been dominated by one particular story. We do a lot of reading most days, so things we bookmarked for posting and commentary got shunted to the side for the bigger event. Here's some of the things we read earlier this week that cops might find interesting.
Once again, massive unexpected increases in heart issues among persons who are probably in the top 1% of healthy people:
- Vaccine-Related Heart Conditions Among Navy Pilots: In 2022, striking increases in myocarditis, hypertensive disease, ischemic heart disease, pulmonary heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and other forms of heart disease were reported when compared to the average of the preceding five years. This alarming trend, underscored by a 151% spike in myocarditis cases, raises essential questions about the possible link between these health issues and the COVID-19 vaccines.
"Trust the science!" they said, except these guys and gals didn't have a choice if they wanted to keep flying.

That Bears stadium on the lakefront? Might not be a done deal:
Bears President Kevin Warren sounds like a man in a hurry when it comes to building a domed stadium adjacent to Soldier Field. But the advocacy group that has long served as the lakefront’s primary protector is saying, “Not so fast.”
Gin Kilgore, acting executive director of Friends of the Parks, is not about to go along with what she called Warren’s “Buy now, this deal won’t last!” sales pitch. The Bears met with Friends of the Parks March 21 and gave leaders of the group a glimpse of the team's vision for a lakefront stadium.
“We need to slow down ... We need a lot of scrutiny because this isn’t just about the lakefront. ... It’s about public financing. It’s about community development. ... The Bears ...were going to leave us for three years and now, they want to come back,” Kilgore said.
Friends of the Parks have been the stalwart defenders of keeping the lake front open and accessible to all Chicagoans, not just the moneyed class who want to buy and restrict access. They kept George Lucas from dumping a ridiculous "museum" on the lake front - and seeing what Star Wars has become, that was a great move. The Bears shouldn't be selling any land in Arlington Heights any time soon.
[edit] As a commenter reminded us, the Friends of the Parks did allow the city to steal a huge chunk of park land for the Sparklefart Library, so they're obviously swayed by politics.

Why is gun crime in Chicago up? Because the feds won't prosecute:
Chicago is flooded with firearms, more than almost anywhere in the country, but federal prosecutors in the city are less likely to approve gun charges than their counterparts in most other cities.
A massive new data release by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives shows that more ownership traces of “crime guns” recovered by law enforcement agencies were done in Chicago than anywhere except Houston from 2017 through 2021.
Yet federal prosecutors in Chicago were ranked in the bottom eight of the country's 94 federal court districts in the percentage of gun cases they approve, according to the report...
We guess when 85%-to-95% of your gun offenders are of a certain background, a high conviction rate could be interpreted in an unflattering light.

Feds lack the resources to take on even a significant fraction of the gun cases here.
That coupled with their slowness and insistence on taking on only perfect cases makes that number even lower.
Now I'm all for the feds going after gun cases, but that's going to mean more Prosecutors, judges, public defenders etc.
Still if they wanted to the DOJ could make Chicago a test district.
Up the resources and have at it.
All members of the U.S. military were required to get the vaccine, or be fired, so...
All Navy pilots got that horrible Covid-19 vaccine.
But ... most of the major airlines required THEIR pilots be vaccinated too, or be fired.
And now a lot of pilots flying U.S. commercial jumbo jets have developed Covid-19 vaccine-related heart disease.
The FAA had very strict standards on the heart health of commercial pilots. Pilots have to undergo regular EKG tests, and in the past a pilot's heart function had to fall within certain parameters or they would lose their pilot license.
Now, since 2022, the FAA has quietly loosened the standards, so that pilots with damaged hearts can still fly, otherwise there would be a pilot shortage that the airline industry could not handle.

Once again SCC is one of the few places of not the only one (not a paid endorsement) I have been wondering for years (I’m not the police) why the feds weren’t taking gun crime federally??? I remember a news conference a couple years ago when the G said they were stepping up & taking gun possession by convicted felons to the federal level where “I believe “ it’s a mandatory minimum sentence?? The Feds also refuse prosecution for gun crimes because when the evidence is so strong, as in possession of an unregistered machine gun, they would get a conviction that they would have to pay the costs of prison for, and Fed sentences can only be reduced by 15%.
I have had the ATF refuse to prosecute 4473 violations (adjudicated mental defective / danger to self and others) when I managed a pawn/gun shop.

Only problems with that, the cowardly, lazy thugs tend to be terrible shots and the hospitals save all too many. And the thugettes start out breeding very young and often with multiple thugs. I have been suffering from Tinnitus for 4 or 5 years. The ringing in my ears is 24/7. I was thinking maybe it was due to not wearing ear protection while using my leaf blower or air compressor in my garage. Last week, I read an article in a medical journal about a high incidence of Tinnitus being reported by people that have received the Covid Vaccination. The publishers of the article said "more study is needed" to determine if there is a link!
Presto! About the time I was pressured into getting the Covid shot and two follow up shots, was about the time my "ear ringing" began. Dr. Fauci, Arwadi, and others can KISS my ass!

Mass stabbing incident in Australia Six dead. Five female, one male. Stabber was stopped by a female police officer who shot him. Officer told subject to put the knife down, which he did not. Is that any reason to shoot him dead? Why didn't she shoot the knife out of his hand? Was shooting the stabber proportional to the stabbing and murder of 6 people with a knife? COPA demands to know. I remember seeing a video before YT started taking everything down. It was a former gang banger saying the guns would get dumped in the ghetto by the pallets. He's personally seen it on multiple ocassions when a truck with a lift gate would show up in the hood in the middle of the night and a skid full of guns was randomly dropped and the truck would leave. It makes a lot of sense because this whole chaos might be a planned event by the feds or whoever has interest in it. There was a push for anybody but white pilots in the news a year or so ago by one of the big airlines, DEI (Didn’t Earn It) I guess. So between those inferior pilots and the jabbed up pilots, a few died while flying planes already, flying should be an adventure in the near future. Screw this, I’m driving, not flying, that is if they don't outlaw internal combustion vehicles and push crappy EV’s on everyone.

Do remember when praising Trump that he was the one that kept Faker Fauci on and in fact gave him more power. And Trump was taking credit for rolling out the clot shot so fast. Was he the one that gave Big Pharma the no sue clause? I don't know, but he will never admit he made mistakes with regard to the China virus and the shot. The 2020 scamdemic just shows how done this country really is. And no matter how many healthy young and youngish people become sick or die...no one will ever be held accountable for it all. Maybe you should do a little research on the subject of tinnitus before you blame the vaccine. I did when I developed it more than 10 years ago. It is estimated that 15% of the world’s population has it, which means it’s pretty common. Of course this estimate varies by study. Anyway, tinnitus can be caused by a respiratory virus, a reactivation of the virus that causes chickenpox, a reaction to nsaids (such as Advil, etc.), frequent exposure to loud noises, and age-related hearing loss. There are many other causes-including stress-but doctors are often unbable to figure out what has caused it in each individual case. I can tell you that mine gets worse when my allergies flare up, and that I’m doubly careful at the range. Regardless of where you think your tinnitus began, please use hearing protection when you are operating a leaf blower and air compressor! Some hearing loss is likely inevitable as we age. Don’t exacerbate it by not protecting yourself! Oh, and four to five percent of people who had Covid reportedly developed tinnitus.

Don't know where you got the idea that ANY military personnel could refuse the jab without repercussions, but the reality is those military people who did refuse (I know a few) lost their positions, then were given discharges for refusing to follow orders. At least the CPD who refused had union representation, and God knows Chicago couldn't afford to lose any more police! And even now that the reality of the "safety and effectiveness" of those shots is coming to light, the military personnel are NOT being given any slack. Talk to us again about "core values" when YOU end up losing your paycheck and have your character in question going forward because of your job loss.

This feels oddly relevant today. Anyone else agree? Plenty of people want to fix it, certainly want to complain about it, but do we REALLY have anyone able to do it? I don't know, that's kind of scary.
