Now it's "activists" joining in the IG's unholy crusade:
Residents of the 33rd Ward, social justice groups and local officials demanded an outside investigation into Chicago police officers with ties to the Oath Keepers extremist group two months after CPD officials chose not to discipline them after what the groups called an “inadequate” investigation.
At a news conference outside Horner Park fieldhouse Saturday afternoon, local residents and members of the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression called on the city’s inspector general to investigate the officers named in the probe [...].
“We need the inspector general to open an investigation into this matter to ensure the investigation is handled with integrity,” said Grace Pacino, a member of the alliance. “It’s a failure on [CPD’s] part to act in good faith. … We can’t allow this.”
And just to show how un-serious they are:
- The groups also demanded the names and complaint histories of officers working in the 17th Police District and to end pretextual stops, in which officers use minor violations to pull over a vehicle in order to find probable cause for another crime. They call for the disbanding of CPD’s tactical teams, which have come under fire after officers shot and killed Dexter Reed during a traffic stop.

Dexter a$$hole shot a Police Officer. He put the cops "under fire" during a perfectly legal traffic stop. Anything he got in return, he had coming and then some. So f#$% off Violet.
As for the rest of these "progressive" Karens and Chads, why not take the entrance exam and show us all how it's done? Start missing some holidays and family events, enjoy your increasingly rare days off and get crapped on by the community and politicians. Start confronting the evil-doers and teach them the error of their ways. We'll send you a card in the hospital afterwards.

She has basically ruined any sort of Police presence on 1723's beat too.
I’ll never understand this argument they have against the Oath Keepers. The entire purpose is to uphold their oath regarding the constitution, civil liberties, state law, etc. The very things these groups constantly say the police “don’t do.” You can’t check one CPD or ISP Facebook post without seeing at least one or two morons cry about how they are violating constitutional rights blah blah blah. So then they are members of this group and that instantly makes them extremists?? So which is it, you want people upholding the constitution or not…?
Be careful of what you read in the CHICAGO SUN TIMES. I very rarely read anything in that paper unless this blog mentions a story. The story mentions extremism in the ranks of the CPD by the Oath Keepers extremist group. It sounds pretty bad. I have been retired from CPD for 15 yrs so the only link to CPD is this blog. I have heard of this group, Oath Keepers, but don’t know much about them outside of what you hear on the news.
My point is the newspaper CST reports that social justice groups, namely the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression have called on Chicago IG office to investigate and are calling for sweeping changes in the structure of the CPD. So who is this Chicago Alliance (casrpr.org) and its National Alliance (naarpr.org).
I see they have training sessions to other groups regarding bloated police wages & overtime, FOP contract allows police to get away with crimes, how they are going to hold the police accountable.
What peaked my interest was the reference to the radical Angel Davis from the early 70s. Check their national website they are all over the country creating havoc. They are radical Marxists Communists hoping to destroy this country and you the police especially. So where do they get their money to operate this organization? I see no reference to where they are getting their funding, private or government funding or grants. Nor do they mention an audit of how they make or what they spend monies on. I would’t be surprised if our tax dollars go to them.
Just remember them because they know you. And for that CST reporter that wrote that biased piece she should be fired for reporting that this is a social justice group, she is either obtuse or in with them. Hopefully someone else has some information on them. Stay safe!

I agree with you , SCC, these cry babies should become the police. You too can ride around at 0200 hours and respond to calls for service without adequate back up and roll the dice every night to see if you come home in one piece. You too can show us how you would handle a situation like the one the tac guys and gal in 011 handled getting shot and shot at. Here’s a solution, you can ask your alder person to put a vote out and see if the police are even wanted in your ward and if the police are not wanted those resources could go to another ward.
We should have an investigation of all politicians, prosecutors, and judges with ties to any left-wing activist organizations. They're the radical element that are destroying what's left of the city.

Reed had been shot some months earlier by his own uncle, in a still unknown family dispute, than when he was killed. He had previously told people he was going to get revenge on the person who shot him.
It's obvious the tac guys had been given info from a CI about Reed now having a gun & looked for something to stop him for & did to stop him from killing his own uncle. Then for some utterly insane reason, Reed fired at the tac unit guys & they responded to save their own lives & ended up killing that fool!
A few blocks south of the field house in the park is a memorial for Michael Ceriale who was shot and killed in the line of duty. He took an oath and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Since they stopped handing out over time I’ve worked less and have been enjoying my rdo’s. I’ve noticed weight loss and I’m a lot more happier with the family. I’ve been blessed to have paid down my debt. My word of advice to young p.o’s don’t live outside of your means. It feels good knowing I no longer have to work overtime to make ends meet. I left Chicago after 23 years and continued working in the burbs. Lateral positions are everywhere. 12 hrs days are great. You only work 2 days a week and 3 days on, 3 days off rotating weekends. Vacation,Personal and comp time all to help you enjoy time with family. No residency. No days off cancelled. OT opportunities if you feel the need. Living better and enjoying life, even suburban police work. Plenty of boss games (Policies) but It’s just a different game. Pay me. I’ll keep showing up. 7 days every two weeks that is…. There are other options in life. Coming into other Departments with Chicago Police experience…. Priceless! Not much will phase you.
