The "glow" from the DNC is already wearing off:
Mayor Brandon Johnson can’t afford to bask in the glow of last week’s Democratic National Convention. The cold hard reality of Chicago finances is about the slap him in the face.
The three-year financial forecast that serves as the city’s preliminary budget is due out this week, and the results will not be pretty.
The “base outlook” in last year’s version projected a $986 million shortfall in 2025. The “negative” outlook included a $1.53 billion deficit. Even the rosiest economic outlook projected a $636 million shortfall.
A lot has happened since then, placing an even heavier burden on beleaguered Chicago taxpayers.
The article by normally water-carrying media tool Fran Spielman goes on to list numerous financial obligations and along with pitfalls and shortages that await Conehead. The tax increases that will be required are going to be painful and in a responsible administration, inspire some soul searching alongside massive cuts in service.
But Conehead is a moron, surrounded by morons and advised by idiots.

Mayor Conehead needs to rid the city of what is sucking the blood out of our economy. Start with the illegal aliens who do not belong here even though he welcomed here. Send them to wealthier areas of the country like Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, San Francisco, Bel Air/Brentwood & the suburbs of Washington DC where most of the political elite live. We can’t afford their royal upkeep anymore. There’s plenty more things to cut in the budget.

It doesn't look like the governor is coming to the cities rescue any time soon. School consolidations and budget control would work but not in the socialist world. Tax the rich? Socialist pipe dream. Money is mobile. So back to the property tax well again until it is dry.

Chicago is coming upon the brink of unliveability...it will be a vast wasteland for millionaires, and poor people. The middle class will get pushed out by high taxes...poor people will begin to rally and cry that jobs are not available, and the democrats will give them more entitlements. Those entitlements will not be enough for poor people to transition to the "working middle class" and the cycle will continue.

The state of Massachusetts is going broke. There are towns there that opposed Sanctuary cities and they still got stuck with migrants. They are cutting bus services for legal citizen’s children while also getting taxpayer funding to keep bidding for migrants.
"Chicago ain't ready for reform." ... all you need to know about this city as it swirls down the drain. Also, I don't think that an honest City of Chicago goods and services contract has been awarded since the 1920's. They don't give city contracts to nobody that nobody sent.
45 billion in unfunded pension liabilities with 11 billion in current assets. Another problem is the CTU banging the strike war drums again. The only guy who gets it is the head of the CPS who conehead is trying to dump because common sense makes no sense anymore.
