From top to bottom the CPD is a far cry from a professional organization. Totally ineffectiv leadership at all levels, merit promotions have ruined what was a passable organization. Ineffective union representation that for to many years was going along to get along, with union personnel hopng for a soft landing place due to their cooperation. Merit promotions for renumination or sexual favors. An abysmal homicide clearance rate, has emboldened the gangs to operate with no fear or being caught. If caught they will plead down to little jail time for keeping losing gang rival, but that is another failing not the fault of the CPD.

It’s still literally 3 or 4 people making the decisions. After the DNC there will be a few that will carry the blame. Then on to the next reset

I’m not surprised. Watching some of these “supervisors” attempt to read one short paragraph to approve my arrest report and literally seeing a calculus problem circulating above their heads as they try to understand the probable cause part of the paragraph is quite entertaining to me. Then having to go get another “supervisor” to come and explain to that “supervisor” that everything is good cracks me up. Then, afterwards, I die just a little bit infernally at how stupid this job is.

I was told by the union it will never be fixed because they want there dues on the 1-16th so every time we get anything on the 1st and 16th the dues and taxes will be wrong. I was also told it’s only a couple hundred dollars look at the raise we got you.

Spelling is not our strong suit. What really gets me though, is when they misspell the name of a decease member in the FOP Bulletin. I understand that typos happen, but those names are something that should be double and triple checked prior to going to press.

The good bosses began leaving when Weis was designated as supe. Some thought, "What, nobody on the department is smart enough to run it?" They saw the handwriting on the wall.
As the result of the series of inept, and outsider bosses, you see the end result; most of the decent bosses have left. Many just stayed in their spots until it was time to leave. Many didn't seek promotion and remained lieutenants on the sinking ship.

If you're talking about the attack helicopter pilot with over 2000 hours behind the stick, but not qualified for our helicopter unit, yes.
Talked with him before he retired. He was doing part time flying ambulance service before he retired.
Living in Texas from what I heard. Lucky him.
