Reality Mirrors Movie

As things settle down, we find a renewed interest in sports. And that interest is sorely disappointed to find that there aren't any professional sports teams playing in Chicago any longer. It's almost like the old days when we were growing up - everyone sucks. The White Sox just lost their 101st game of the year and are making a serious run at the losing-est record of all time.

It feels like the movie - Major League - where the ownership is trying to blow as many games as possible to drive down attendance in Cleveland so they can move the team to Florida.

Florida is out of the picture at the moment, but we heard Tennessee is looking for a team.

Does he still have the no rent clause in the lease if the attendance is below a certain threshold?

Don't forget how woke these teams turned writing checks from your ticket sales to BLM, advertising BLM on scoreboards and marquis's not to mention on uniforms, bases and other areas of the stadiums. As a life long Chicago dedicated sports fan and athlete "I" can proudly say in the past 5 years unlike most coppers who have short memory have not watched a single game of any sport or financially supported any sports team through attendance or sports apparel. It's been awesome to see my kids and wife also giving it up. When it came down to it, it actually wasn't that difficult to do we replaced it with more outdoor activities and watched other things.

Part 1/2: On the topic of getting out of Chicago, CPS OIG William Fletcher's last day working for CPS was last Friday, August 23, 2024. No big fan fare so far as Fletcher is leaving for New York to work with their rail system. Let's see what's said at this Thursday's Board meeting on this.

If Fletcher was to receive a grade, it would be D-. But, with CPS

Fletcher touts going after PPP Loan Fraudsters working for CPS, all 14 of them out over 43,000+ employees and all were Black employees. The thing is Fletcher was out of his jurisdiction in investigating the fraud as none of the 14 employees stole CPS money, it was US governmental money. He recommended each of their firings and DNH designations based on the possibility that each of the employees would be in a position to steal CPS money if they each continued to be employed by CPS. It's almost like saying " He looked like a White guy with a gun."

The only two things Fletcher nailed the 14 on were failing to report secondary income and conduct unbecoming a CPS employee for claiming a false business or overreporting income to get the loans. Most of the 14 are suing CPS or filled grievances to get their jobs back based on Fletcher putting his nose where it didn't belong and each of them not stealing CPS money or lying to CPS about the loans. None of the 14 have been prosecuted so far.

WTTW's cat lady Heather Cherone along with Jared Rutecki were the first to report Fletcher snuck out the back door last Friday and less than a year after he received a contract extension to remain as CPS OIG through the 2025-26 school year. No hoopla or big to-do just like Fletcher's 4 years as CPS OIG.

https://news.wttw.com/2024/08/27/chicago-public-schools-inspector-general-will-fletcher-resigns

Cherone listed Fletcher was able to find 11,000 or so of the 77,505  missing or lost laptops and tech devices ($23M) CPS schools lost when handing them out during COVID. This while not using a $2M tracking system. Really??? If Fletcher is proud of this, he's delusional at best. Yet, Fletcher and CPS had no idea how many were missing or lost by each school and his office claimed 36 schools lost all of them. This seems like a fugazi investigation at best just thrown out there to stir the Feds off the CPS scent.

Fletcher was also rumored to be reporting hundreds of more CPS PPP loan fraudsters after the DNC and that looks to be moot now. He also failed to blow the roof off Lori Lightfoot using CPS students and possibly employees to help her failed mayoral campaign in 2023.

This blog's readers are well aware Fletcher refused to go after CPS Residency violators as well. Any other city employee in violation would be gone ASAP, just not the lying CPS teachers and staffers.

How can a team have so many underperforming players? Is this simply part of the "Chicago way" of compromising integrity? It seems statistically improbable that this situation occurs so often. Meanwhile, taxpayers have been compelled to invest tens of millions in a new stadium for this kind of performance.

Part 2/:

Fletcher's office was spoon-fed names and evidence of up to 75 Residency violators and not one of them was forced to move back to the city or resign and then DNH'd by CPS for failing to do so. Fletcher had the list from Day 1 when he took over as CPS OIG in July 2020. Many of the violators have been doing so for decades with Steinmetz HS having as many as 24 of them employed there since at least the 2015-16 school year. Yes 24!!! Not the 1-3 one would normally find at each school. 24 with 14 of them still employed at Steinmetz or now at Schurz, Mather, or Belmont-Cragin Elementary school.

Fletcher's office quarterly reports were really just shuffling of statistical numbers relating to sexual assaults in schools with his office most recently stating a 60% rise in cases involving CPS security guards. You know more of the ones replacing SROs in schools.

Fletcher also jumped ship for the CPS OIG position from his Park District IG position in the midst of his interviews with Park Superintendent Michael Kelly on their lifeguard sex scandal. He took over for Nick Schuler who was actually involved in real investigations. Kelly, Avis Lavelle, and Fletcher all boogied out of their Park District positions when the heat got too hot there.

See ya Will, I mean Svelyn, don't let the door hit you where the Good Lord split you.

Next up as interim CPS OIG is Amber Nesbitt to be the leader of the CPS secret police to go after individuals that aren't part of the in-crowd or CPS Ilumanti. Geez, CPS couldn't find someone named Buffy, Brittany, or Suzie?

Hey now, my Cubbies have scraped together enough wins to get above .500 and sole possession of 2nd in the NL Central. And unlike Sox fans, we enjoy our wins REGARDLESS of what the other team in town does.

It would be sweet justice for the Cubs to slink their way into the wildcard while the Sox set records for losing in the same year. Suck those sour grapes!

I’m not sure why everyone keeps picking on the White Sox. Everyone will look back on 2024 and just laugh after the White Sox win their fourth franchise World Series in the year 2089!

By the way, they lost a double-header today, but what the heck, Reinsdork will probably make a nice profit this year even with the decrease in attendance. Next year’s profits will be even better as payroll is cut below $100 M as Reinsdork uses the rebuild as an excuse to evaluate the new kids.

Can you blame us? Look at the Cubs. Owner make a gemstone of a Park even better … with his OWN MONEY!!! Reinsdork and his fellow owners are greedy old misers.

Aside from the A’s team, they are the only MLB to not have a $100 M contract - cheap f..ers never signed one player to $100 M contract, heck they never even did $80 M. I don’t mind them not being foolish signing some of these bad contracts, but they are cheap miser pricks.

A few years ago, they had one of the top five MOST Expensive tickets in MLB!!!!! They charge a lot, skimp on costs/players and then pocket more money than most if not all MLB owners.

That is WHY we are wishy washy. Owners are misers

In 2004, the Oakland A’s signed Eric Chavez to a $66 Million contract. Plug that number into any inflation calculator online and $66 Million adjusts to $109.5 Million in 2024. White Sox’s largest contract was the overpay of $75 Million to Andrew Benintedni two years ago! All other 28 teams signed at least one player to one $100 Million contract. White Sox owners are misers and keep their margins high so they can siphon off fans and their children’s delirious devotion to this cheap ass team and it’s greedy … greedy …. Greedy owners.

The White Sox aren't moving anywhere. Back when Reinsdorf leveraged the state to build the current park or he would move to Florida, the state should have called his bluff and let him move. Florida is a terrible place for a major league team, especially a mediocre one. The fan base is mostly retirees who will pay $7 or $8 for a ticket to a spring training game but won't pay $70 or more for 81 games. Somehow the organization needs a complete enema and hiring people who know how to run a baseball program. Chris Getz a GM? Got to be bleeping me.
