Of course, until Musk bought X/Twitter and opened up the censorship gates closed for years at the behest of governments, Musk was a hero to the leftists for all sorts of reasons.

You are way off with this one, SCC. This Pritzker is no activist, before undergoing transgender, was a lifelong Republican who honorably served over 25 years in the military. Has backed many charities supporting “citizen soldiers”. And currently is a Libertarian. He didn’t like Trump and sent $20,000 to Biden, but so did a lot of people who aren’t leftists. I met “him” years ago at an event at the library he founded in Downtown, The Pritzker Military Library and this was no leftist. Put J.B’s picture up and I have no problem but this Pritzker I do.

Couldn’t stand how far left it got and then to be paying for it. I read the Trib for years, starting in late grade school. It takes a while to realize that the news media is slated into what the backers want the public to believe.
When I was on the job in the 1970s and only had a few years on, made a simple arrest for traffic & resisting. The next day I was told by my Commander to down to 1121 and see a high ranking exempt who questioned me about the arrest. The exempt wanted me to talk to a Trib reporter as the person I arrested was involved in some deep criminal activity. The exempt said getting the circumstances of the arrest would be beneficial to CPDs ongoing investigation. He said the reporter could be trusted and he had the reporter call me. I told the reporter I would speak to him as long as I was to remain anonymous and my name would not appear in the paper. When their investigation came out my name was plastered in there. The story later came out and it had to do with a long term investigation from a covert unit. The moral of the story is don’t trust a reporter or for that matter an exempt. I learned!

Growing up the Tribune was delivered to my Parent’s home everyday. Grew up reading that paper and basically trusting them for daily news through the 80s, 90s, and early 00s. Then I got on the job and found myself at crime scenes that were reported on that in no way reflected what I experienced while on scene. Then came the near constant CPD bashing, maybe that was already the case, but it was plainly obvious at this point for me. I had already dropped the subscription, but I would still occasionally check their internet link for basic headlines. Current day I cannot even bring myself to click on their website for anything.
