COPA v COPA

It looks like it's only a matter of time before this entire agency falls apart:

  • Sixteen current or former employees of Chicago’s independent police disciplinary agency have called on a civilian-led panel to consider taking the first step toward removing the agency’s chief — just days after two purported whistleblowers were fired amid a brewing controversy centered on allegations of anti-police bias.

A letter obtained by the Sun-Times details “grave concerns” about Andrea Kersten, chief administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, calling into question “her fitness” to lead the agency charged with investigating serious allegation of police misconduct.

The letter, dated Monday, was signed by 12 current and four former COPA employees.

The authors urged the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability to take a no-confidence vote against Kersten, alleging she has “manipulated investigations to align with her own policy agenda” and retaliated against employees who have complained about “bias and mismanagement.”

Obviously, the next step is for Kersten to fire everyone who signed this letter of no confidence. The lawsuits by the two fired individuals are already being prepared for filing.

Larritorious and Catanzara ought to be doing daily press releases spotlighting assorted biased investigations and disciplinary proceedings that are so far out of line with previous practices that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt her personal vendetta against cops.

They will just put some lipstick on the pig and give it a new name: OPS, IORA, COPA.... same objectives, different name

A lot of things going on here. Department of Law reviews all separation cases. Did they ever point out COPA’s bs on some of these cases or did they just give them the green light? Same for the police board. How many bs cases did they agree with COPA? Did a CPD Supt ever agree with COPA on the bullshit cases? Don’t expect much from the IG, the same IG who recently was pushing for a frivolous investigation into alleged white supremacists based on spam emails.

Catanzara is too busy with all his vacations and side hustles to actually represent the rank and file of the CPD.

Their findings are all based upon opinion and chicanery, every recommendation is controversial. They openly operate in violation of state statutes and nothing is done.

The Muppet is an incompetent ego driven political hack.
She should be held personally libel for her bias and incompetence.
Every COPA case should be flushed because of the incompetent bias that was advocated and interjected into each case by the Muppet Queen.
She is an example of the foolishness of our Elected Democrats and their quest to tear down our legal system.
Everyone who has been investigated by COPA should consider legal action against the Muppet Queen.
No one but Democrats to blame for this shit show.

The only way to change police culture is with a heavy hand against illegal actions. COPA chooses to take a heavy hand against improper policy rather that attacking illegal activity. They should I vestigate the illegal activity and the chain of command should investigate policy issues.

Remember none of the COPA Investigators are certified or licensed by the State of Illinois as investigators? Like Law Enforcement Officer are? And even if they hold a J.D and are members of State Bar. They cannot be held accountable by any City, County or State review board? They can only be fired and move on to their next job after being a disaster in COPA? I know this personally since my sustained CR run by COPA went to the Police Board. It was only there when you get to read the investigation. And find how poorly they run an investigation….. the Police Board found me not guilty of any misconduct! But as the accused there is no way to charge them with investigatory misconduct? I can only sue the City for Hostile work environment?

Those 50 poor souls awaiting their separation hearings who haven't filed suit yet should be doing so immediately. Blood is in the water and a feast is about to happen. Stay strong brothers and sisters.

Snelling isn't going to do a thing. Daddy won't let him speak up like he did last time. Snelling will keep quiet and act professional as to not upset the leftist's who threaten everyone when they don't get what they want.

We all have done dumb stuff before. Rob happened to get caught. There are far worse bosses on this job. In fact, he is one of the batter ones. What you should be asking is who pushed this with no one complaining, who wanted Nieves out of that spot and what are the next pieces of the puzzle to be added or deleted

Her and the whole lot should be sued and held personally liable after being fired. They do it to us on a daily basis and they need to sit down but some assets down in paper.

Last time I looked, firing a whistleblower was a federal offense. Will the Feebs take a break from chasing parents at school board meetings and arrest Kersten?

1st time I’ve seen this video…looks like snelling took a back hand to that ignoramace kersten. Good for snelling because what she is essentially saying is copa will release a statement based on preliminary evidence and before the verifiable facts have been determined in an investigation, thus tainting the public’s view. If she can’t see that she needs to be no where near any type investigations.

COPA, OIG and the Democratic Socialists have weaponized these Kangaroo Courts with the specific goal of demoralizing, demonizing, extracting punishment for perceived/imagined injustices and the continuation of unabated smearing of the Department. These organizations are led by empty suits that make the proverbial "dumb rock" look almost as smart as the average CPS high school graduate.

This is why they have been selected for their jobs. The same goes for the poor excuses in terms of knowledge, skills and ability of their lackluster leadership. Piss poor leadership equals piss poor results. A perfect fit with the other misfits running shitty city.

Massive mistake going for catanzara a second time. His first term wasn’t bad but not great. We still do not have a contract. He is too busy with self grandiosity. A competent wellspoken voice is what we need as a fop president, not a literal buffoon. It’s our own fault. I don’t even remember who ran against him though so there’s that problem as well.

Can you imagine a well-spoken articulate and respected Fop president who could actually take initiative with how poorly COPA has performed and how bias they’ve been? But nope, we got a baboon for president right now.

Easy guess what one trick pony this is posting the same tired b.s.
It was Lodge7 and the lawsuit filed that has triggered all this in motion. If you would have been doing your job when you were there, this would have already been resolved.
