I’d be willing to wager a few toothpicks on the racial demographics of those who are most typically saved by LEMART responses. And also the demographics of the victims involved in Shotspotter incidents would likely be the same.
They say BLM, but their actions don’t appear that way.
There is one demographic in particular that would be adversely affected by the termination of these two programs.
E learning…. I think the department should start teaching medical, law, and cpa via e learning. We can have all of those designations in 4 years because the speed of the teaching method. I feel invincible after e learning.
If they want to get rid of it this would make me very happy! If others want to go and believes it’s good for them go to it. How about have classes you can choose and pick from.

It’s more or less, put a tourniquet on. I don’t think anybody is really putting gauze and chest seals on in the field. If a copper gets hit, tourniquet, transport in squad to hospital, maybe pressure a gusher on the neck but anything more than that it’s a waste. The scenario where there’s this mass casualty and coppers are supposed to patch people up… not happening. I carry my tourniquet and that’s it. You’d have to be mental to put a chest seal on someone out there. You’re setting yourself to get shot your self. Get them in the ambulance and do your paper.
Cancel it. We’ve attended the training several times. We don’t need it every year. A video refresher will do. I’m sick of all of these consent decree trainings and trainings at the request of civilians oversight group.

They just want to give us enough training to save the drug addicts. Its more important we attend ABLE, Use of force (which is the same shit every year taught by 5yr wonders), and wellness (which is obvious NO one at 35th really cares about). All the training we get is useless crap and the ONLY thing its good for is getting us away from the district for a day. Its time to start training the PUBLIC!!!

Wouldn’t surprise me. Not sure why it would be cancelled, it wasn’t outsourced. The instructors were CPD academy guys. It was training we could take with us for life. I still carry my bag with me in my car. Nothing surprises me with this horrendous mayor.

ABLE is the biggest waste of time I’ve ever encountered on this job. I’d rather watch paint dry for an entire period then spend one eight hour tour of ABLE. .

Well the entire department is now LEMART certified. So what's the point of doing the training every year when you already are trained? I'd rather be trained in other subjects areas. Good job CPD in thinking ahead.

I much prefer several hours of PowerPoint telling me about my implicit bias, and reasonableness, and proportionality, and the sliding scale of force that we really can’t use, and the City’s discrimination policy, and the extensive list of when you can’t use the new taser that fires 10 separate darts (that’s going to go well). Seriously, how many different ways can the Department say the same things year in and year out in these stupid “trainings”? Only thing I get of these trainings is go out there and don’t do a damn thing.

LEMART is some of the best, most practical training the Dept. has to offer. Chicago P.O.s do not get nearly enough in-service training they need to do their jobs. Much of the training required by the consent decree is useless and a waste of officers' time.

she has been an advocate for pension reform for us. there's alot of wasteful spending going on that is taken directly from our pensions. She has been doing this on her own for quite a few years now. She is on our side.

This is the result of kicking CPD out of CPS.
4 students at Steinmetz H.S. have been hospitalized after a female student entered into a large fight and sprayed 15 students with mace.
Possessing mace is a criminal offense.
Steinmetz has "security," but naturally, CPD was called.
When CPD arrived, a Steinmetz administrator argued with police over whether to arrest the offender and asked for input from school "security."
The student with the mace, a female, was taken into custody.
If I ever get into a gunfight with an offender, our safety is always and will be number #1, f@#ck pookie, that my fellow officers is going to be the longest ambulance call ever or for that matter applying first aid on a motherf#$cker that just tried to kill you. F@#CK this department and their policies.

F#$ck all of this shit training, when I started 20+plus years ago the police was either feared or respected or both. Now we are nothing but clowns in blue suits thanks to this f@#cken administration and their f@#cken policy training. That is why we are getting murdered out there on a daily basis because the thugs know of our hands being cuffed. I just hope that when all goes to hell, I will get the opportunity to hunt all the culprits of our downfall and administer justice to them. They know they have to pay bonuses now for lemart. It’s all about the money. Also, the Lemart kits are expensive to purchase. Wait until you guys see the budget coming up, it’s not pretty. You think overtime is tight now?????? It’s about to get almost non existent. Pretty much only OT approved will be for an extension of tour for late arrest, late assignment and court or supervisor coverage needs. Otherwise no more missions, hire back for the watches etc. everything mission wise will be done on duty.

They absolutely are applying chest seals in the field. And successfully. You can hear them getting a timestamp on the air pretty regularly.
OT is the opposite of tight right now. The whole watch has unlimited OT every rdo plus extension on the front if they want. Even the desk blowjobs get unlimited OT in the watch. A desk officer has 40k in OT this year and counting. And she’s never worked the street with 7 years on. Desk whole career making a killing in overtime.
Sorry, if my partner gets shot I’m loading him/her in the car and we’re headed to a trauma center at 100 mph. If someone wants to slap a chest seal or tourniquet on them in the back seat even better. Time is the most important thing. Play Marcus Welby on your kittens.
All CPD training is painful at best and a joke. All these trainings could be done in an hour lemart included. I say scrap it all and stop applying tourniquets to shitheads.

Remember, they can't hire anyone, and won't rehire/pick up laterals because just like HR, this city is filled with a bunch of idiots at the top "pretending" to brainstorm "great ideas" to solve the manpower and budget crisis. You know what I say to that? Fuck this department, fuck the gold shirts and fuck this city. Let it burn and just collect your check.
They leave because they got the heads up - it looks better to promote from patrol than a unit. They go back to patrol for a week then the list comes out and then the percentages of patrol promotions is higher.
Wellness training is the biggest waste of time too I remember when they had civilians teaching it and the instructor asked how many bowel movements we had a day I was out of there
For those bashing LEMART or having the knowledge of how to save a life, what if it was your child, family member, friend, or partner who was critically injured? Would you depend on another first responder? Or would you rather have the ability to providing immediate, life saving care?

Cancel every type of in person training. They can all be E-Learning modules, half of us are on our phones during classroom instruction anyway. Worst training of any department.
