Good News for CCL!
It is now legal to carry on the CTA and Metra....for exactly four people:
There is a note attached to the article:
- A district court judge ruled that the Illinois ban on concealed carry on public transportation is unconstitutional. However, the relief granted by the judgement only applies to the individual plaintiffs in the case, not the public as whole.
This is a District Court ruling, and the State is sure to appeal it to the Seventh Circus Circuit, whereupon it will go the the US Supreme Court in a few years. But in the meantime, be sure if you get called to a person with a gun on the CTA and/or Metra, it isn't one of those four people who just won their case in court. You'll be on the hook for a few million dollars personally.
Kind of darkly humorous that this comes out right after Monday's shooting.

Why live in a war zone with idiots who cannot lead, ...time to move. Leave the shithole.
With all that is going on I can’t imagine going anywhere unarmed.
Can you tell me what the “time of founding” was?
Amen!!!
I was under the impression that the constitution was the law of the land and applied to everyone. How can an unconstitutional ruling only apply to 4 people? What about the equal protection clause? The law should apply to everyone.
Gun free zones are criminal playgrounds.
What you don't tell them, they will never know. Now, kees me you fool!!!!
So, police can't stop urban youths if they're seen carrying firearms on the train? Asking for a friend.
we need midnight basketball back !!! (sarcasm)
Fat Governor disagrees with the judge,so does IL AG. Don’t they want citizens to have a fighting chance against their supporters?
I could care less what those two traitors think. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
How does a court say the Constitution only applies to four people?
I'm waiting for a black 70 yr old grandma to be on the train with a .38 snubby in her purse when all of a sudden she's accosted by some undemonized yuff's who try to rob her...
Granny puts a few into one of them at point blank range, the other roaches scatter, and she steps over the body at her stop...
What's the O/U on Crimesha chargin' ole Granny with carryin' in a prohibited area? Because once she doesn't - the pool suddenly expands from 4 on up to the rest of us.
The Bill of Rights, including the 2nd amendment, was ratified in 1791. Sometime around then, I presume.
So it was ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL by a US district judge. So what he is saying is the constitution only applies to the four plaintiffs??? Makes a lot of sense.
