Twenty-one Convictions
And free to get number twenty-two:
- A 21-time convicted felon who got shot by an 80-year-old man he
targeted in a home invasion has been given a six-year sentence. But,
after having his sentence cut in half for good behavior and receiving
other credits, Mansfield Wallace should be out of prison before
Christmas, less than 2 years after he committed the crime.
The woman accused of helping Wallace with the January 2023 break-in on the Northwest Side, Tabitha Hemphill, stopped showing up for court in March, according to court records. A warrant is out for her arrest.
Prosecutors said the octogenarian was seated in his recliner, recovering from prostate surgery, when someone knocked on his front door in the 8500 block of West Catherine around 10:30 a.m. Thinking a neighbor might be checking on him to be sure his recovery was coming along, the man opened the door, only to find Wallace on the other side, according to prosecutors.
Wallace, who was on parole, allegedly forced his way in, pushed the victim to the ground, and physically fought him. The victim, a licensed gun owner, broke free and retrieved a pistol from his bedroom.
Winged the accomplice and then hit the felon. Too bad the homeowner didn't finish the job, but as tough as he seems, maybe he'll get another chance after this guy gets paroled around Christmastime.

Someone...Please give him a city job....
Targeting senior citizens. Pritzker and Foxx are the Democrats to blame
Too bad dude is still sucking air
Why wasn't he charged with attacking someone over the age of 60, which then requires additional time served?
Because Crimesha has put utterly useless wimps in as prosecutors & C[r]ook County has the worst, most useless & incompetent judges in the country! If this had happened in DuPage County, he'd be going away for a decade or two!
That is way up there on the North side, correct?
That is some Chicago Public School math right there.
Yeah, what our society needs is to have this 21 time loser back on the streets as quickly as possible.
If you have more than one felony conviction you’re an asshole and you’re hard headed and you’re going to continue to break the law. What needed to be done here is set an example and launch this asshole for , oh let say, 30 years which is the top sentencing in a Class X felony. What a goddamn joke this state is.
If the octogenarian needs more ammo give me a call. I will be happy to drop off a couple of boxes.
I would respectfully disagree on sentencing.
To set a proper example, this skel needs to be 'lost in the system' until he turns up next month stuck on one of the water intake cribs.
That area is as dangerous for seniors as Mount Greenwood.
What we have here is a failure of the IDOC to communicate.
The democratic vice president nominee, Walz, has a wife who believes that no one should be sent to prison and there is no such thing as a career criminal. Criminals should be given unlimited chances at reforming their lives. Hug a criminal and vote for a democrat.
And Foxx sleeps like a baby every night. She could not care less.
The best part of the story is how weak and much of a loser you must be to have an 80 year old recovering from prorate surgery be able to fight off your attack and recover his gun and shoot you.
He had a bad childhood, needs at least 50 "second chances" before the retards decide to keep him in jail permanently... >sarcasm<
Get grandpa a cleaning kit and an extra box of ammo... hope he hits the jagoff next time.
Perhaps some kind firearms instructor can give offer the victim some free shooting lessons.
