Charges Dropped

One of two:

  • Barely a month after two Chicago cops, including a high-ranking deputy chief, were charged with slashing vehicle tires while on duty at Puerto Rican Fest, charges have been dropped against one of them.

Last month, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office declined to file felony charges against Nieves, 53, and Gies, 26, citing insufficient evidence.

Despite the state’s attorney’s decision, supervisors at the Chicago Police Department decided to strip both men of their police powers and directly file two misdemeanor charges of criminal damage against Gies and one count of the same charge against Nieves on September 5.

This has rapidly turned into a welcome spotlight on the corruption evident in the Bureau of Internal Affairs / Internal Affairs Division and the yo-yo in charge. She seems more determined to remove opponents and impediments to Conehead's "progressive" agenda....and maybe settling a few grudges along the way.

Which BIA?
The same BIA whose current chief made merit with Snelling in the same promotional class? The same BIA whose chief’s family members utilized her vehicle to transport narcotics and got caught? The same BIA who’s chief got her impounded vehicle back out the back door without paying the narcotics impound fee that all other citizens have been paying for decades? The same BIA who’s Chief, Deputy Chief and Commander are all in the same inner circle with Fred Waller, Eddie Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Karla Johnson, Chris Fletcher, Joshua Wallace (commander of narcotics)?
The same BIA whose Chief and Deputy Chief committed documented rule 14’s to both the City Council’s Budget and the public safety meetings and no investigation was ever conducted? The same IAD that BARZ was rewarded for shelving so many investigations? The same IAD that Skahill, Rivera, Kirby, Konow and every other boss appointed to oversee that corrupt unit was eventually shown the door? Really? Do you think anything is going to happen to any of them? It’s the Chicago way! All their dirt has been swept under the carpet as everything else has and will continue to be. Nothing to see here, move along LAD.

Kim Foxx saying the evidence is "insufficient to meet our burden of proof" to put a police officer on trial? That turdbird would love to have a cop's scalp as she leaves so you know the charges are b.s.
Question for those in the know: did they let the air out via the stem and not by "slashing" them?

The CPD’s internal corruption is bad that the State’s Attorney’s office turned down an opportunity to fry an officer even though video evidence was available. State’s Attorneys office left the BIA hanging on this one. They wanted nothing to do with this case. They wouldn’t even touch it. I’m sure they are sitting back laughing their ass off..

It seems that everyone other than the BIA knows that officers can’t sign Misdemeanor complaints for minor damage to private property. No victim, No crime, no face, no case.. Hardworking officers know not to even contact the ASA’s office unless the victim is at the station. Who”s idea was it to contact the state’s attorney’s office without a victim being available for them to interview? Even the media knew that an arrest shouldn’t have been made. They even went as far as to knock on the victim’s door and record him saying that he had no idea that the officers had been arrested, and that he didn’t want to pursue charges.

The internal corruption is so bad that not only did the state’s attorney’s office
refuse to touch the case, within weeks they turned around and dropped more charges against offenders in an officer related Homicide case, and on the hills of that, another law enforcement agency in Cook County requested that a former CPD Boss resign from being the head of their department.

That’s what’s scary about the job if you aren’t in that club. You will be hung while others accused of the same thing will not. It’s been that way forever.

For Christ sake if the Cook County State’s Attorney stated that evidence was too “insufficient” for her to charge a Chicago Police Officer, that should’ve been a clear indication to refrain from making an arrest. She’s in charge of the ASA’s in misdemeanor and felony court, and insufficient evidence is insufficient evidence it doesn’t matter which courtroom it’s in.

Yes, but when it comes to property damage officers should only sign complaints when there’s damage to government, city and state supported property. Citizens sign complaints when it comes to their personal/ private property. They don’t have to pursue criminal charges. Just like officers don’t typically tow vehicles or write tickets on private property. The property owner has to hire a private tow companies to tow vehicles from his lot, unless the vehicle is being towed as evidence involving a major crime. Remember this incident is involving a misdemeanor charge and private property damages don’t get it confused with other charges.

Don’t worry because if the police pull them over, niece will give them a piece of her mind and tell them that her aunt is probably their boss. Niece and nephew will even lie to the police and give them a fake address, so that the police can hit the wrong house. Either way friend will be safe and there will be no consequences.

Part of the problem is that the department has historically been unable to address officer wrongdoing on its own. A 2017 US Department of Justice report called the Chicago Police Department “broadly ineffective” at detecting police misconduct within its ranks.

https://www.justice.gov/opa/file/925846/dl

The categorization is harsh, but sadly accurate.

CPD’s laundry list of corruption scandals over the years is well-documented. Some date back to the days of prohibition, when a Chicago Police Chief was discovered vacationing with a known associate of Al Capone.

When it comes to making an arrest, the Superintendent would be better off reaching out to a WOL because they approve arrest charges each day. The personnel in Legal Affairs haven’t made an arrest in years, if ever. They are clueless clout babiies. They’re just trying to keep their spots.

This department has been tarnished and corrupt for 100 years. Every superintendent has a history and doesn't get to that position without selling his soul. Corruption will never go away in this city. Hence, it's the Chicago way.
