Unfortunately because this person was a lazy fuck someone or others will end up suffering cuz of that stolen firearm.
Crime will flourish and the city is lost. We lost the war on crime and there is no surrendering. We will just move away demoralized. I worked at another company prior to CPD and there was a guy who had a proclivity to visit the damsels of the ghetto. He love to entertain the co-workers of his adventures. One thing I remembered was he said he would park his car away from where he was going and leave everything in the car his wallet, IDs, money. He would only take the exact money for “the visit”. He would leave the car unlocked so he could get back in. They asked why he did all that and he said so in case he got robbed or stopped by the police. I thought it was strange as he would stick “stick out like a sore thumb” as he would not be native to those who lived in the hood.
There’s nothing in the 3800 blk of West Grenshaw but trouble.
This won’t be hard to figure out who this cop is.They only have 150+ detail.
But I heard he can hold an umbrella with the best of them.
That sounds....deliberate.

This is dumb ass ghetto and hood behavior. To leave your keys in the car. I do not know why people from the ghetto do this, but they do this. They leave the keys in the car while the motor is still running when they go visit a friend/relative, when going to a convenience store, step in to a gas station, etc...
Just the idea of putting in a minimum amount of effort or being proactive is a complete foreign concept.
This sounds really suspicious. Why would you keep your car keys in the ignition and the car is running? With all of your stuff?
I hope they get to the bottom of this when they investigate.

Speaking of best and brightest. Brass has meeting yesterday with marathon personnel and tells everyone to be vigilant with current times. Follows up by telling personnel if their units can't provide vehicles, they are to be out their in their personal cars. Forget the issues with insurance and those things if something happens, your having men and women out on their own without an emergency vehicle. Things go sideways, no way to help the public or fellow POs. Or god forbid, have to make an escape. All sitting ducks on a path that is already heavily barricaded. Top that with a fire dept that is dangerously low on their won trucks and ambulances. Sending lambs to a slaughter.

Seriously? They may not lose the whole car but how many times have they left radios, guns ( including M4s or shotguns ) body armor etc inside the cars which are then broken into by dude? In one case I handled a USM left all his weapons inside the car , parked it illegally and the car was towed by the City.

I killed two hours of my tour of duty that way. Never use your personal car. In this day and age, it will be vandalized when you are away.
So I understand, to a small extent, why any mayor of a big city has a security detail. But 150? And why do they need to travel out of state? Who the hell knows ConeHead in Vegas, LA, or LONDON???
