Charges Announced

This is going to be another SAFE-T Act disaster:

  • A wanted felon was charged and detained Sunday in connection with the death of Chicago Police Officer Krystal Rivera, who was unintentionally shot and killed by her partner last week after the man allegedly pointed an AR-style pistol at officers.

Adrian A. Rucker, 25, of Freeport, faces felony counts of armed violence and illegal possession of a gun, drugs and a fake ID, Chicago police said in a statement Sunday morning.

A Cook County judge ordered him held until trial during his detention hearing Sunday afternoon. Officers and Rivera’s family filled the courtroom.

Guess where this asshole was supposed to be already?

  • CPD reported that Rucker had six active warrants at the time of his arrest, including one from suburban Cook County that had been active for nearly a year.

Court records indicate Rucker failed to appear in court on an identity theft charge on June 5, 2024, exactly one year before Rivera’s shooting. Judge Ellen Mandeltort ordered her clerk to send Rucker a postcard reminder of his court obligations, but he did not comply. Mandeltort issued a failure-to-appear warrant a month later, which remained active until Chicago police arrested him on Thursday night.

A postcard?!?!  That'll show him!

Paul Vallas points out:

  • According to the Chicago Tribune, the person arrested in the tragic death of Officer Krystal Rivera allegedly pointed a rifle at Officer Rivera and other officers during a pursuit, which led to the incident that tragically led to her death.

Rucker had 6 WARRANTS and a revoked FOID card due to domestic battery charges. He had an arrest warrant with Cook County since July of 2024. Why didn’t the Sheriff make this arrest?

This is the public safety crisis former Clerk of the Courts Iris Martinez warned county leaders like Toni Preckwinkle about as Sheriff Tom Dart has let almost 40,000 warrants go unserved!

These warrants put CPD officers lives in grave danger, who come across these individuals at traffic or investigatory stops and do not know the person they are approaching has an arrest warrant.

CBS Chicago reports that the Sheriffs office has let 75% of orders of protection go unserved. Has any reporter asked why he does not serve the warrants and orders of protection?

How many lives of victims of violence and first responders do we have to lose before the leaders at Cook County will do their jobs?

Dart has never been held accountable for any poor decisions he's made - from jail deaths, to hiring media slobs or their wives for six-figure jobs, cutting manpower to dangerous levels.

Why start now?

Can we get a legitimate, pro law enforcement, former cop to run for Sheriff next election cycle? Insane that this ass never has any real competition. Would love to have someone like Ron Haine run for office

(Dominick Izzo doesn’t count).

Whatever happened in this guy's case? Has he even gone to trial yet? How's P.O. Moreno doing?

This is a perfect example of the State "having to" knock the charge down to a misdemeanor so the offender will come back to court to plea after being released on an i-bond or electronic monitoring. This guy did that and then was able to get the felony charge that was reduced to a misdemeanor, expunged so he was able to obtain or keep his FOID and CCL. Straight from the mouth of an ASA, they have to knock them down to a misdemeanor because the defendant would never come back in to plea to a felony that they know they are going to do time for, AND the court doesn't have the court space or personnel to have to put all these cases on for a full trial especially within the term date. So in order to be able to get the defendant back in and to be able to close the case, they offer to reduce their felony down to a misdemeanor and time considered served if they come in and plea.

The media should do a FOIA request on all the felony cases that have been "closed out" since "Bail reform" started.

• How did Jerome Halsey, now charged with shooting a CPD officer, have a FOID and CCL despite gun conviction?

But we've learned his record was never actually expunged or sealed - and when it comes to his FOID card, he slipped through a loophole designed by the state.

Apparently, Chicago media doesn't have Grok or Chatgpt

The FBI investigation into the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Tom Dart, centers on allegations of misconduct, including potential COVID-19 relief fraud, ghost payrolling, nepotism, and forgery, with connection to inmate deaths at Cook County Jail.

Despite a significant reduction in Cook County Jail's population since Sheriff Tom Dart took office in 2006, inmate deaths have not decreased due to persistent issues like inadequate supervision, poor medical care, and drug overdoses. In 2023, 18 deaths occurred, the highest since 2013, despite a lower population, with half linked to lapses in oversight and care.

Illinois Democrats have a lot of blame to share for the death and destruction caused by their legislation agenda in the safe t act.
Dart loves running his little kingdom cherry picking projects for his media profile while ignoring the dangers caused by his mentor JBP and Toni.
Every one of these Democrat weasels need to be voted out of office and held accountable for the blood on their hands.

The Safety Act says you cannot hold someone more than 30 days on a failure to appear warrant. A Cook County judge is challenging that by holding an offender who has skipped court half a dozen times, held for 30 days and then released only to not show up again. Hopefully this part of the law is changed.

I thought that the sheriff, as a team flag waver of all the poorly enacted legislation by the general assembly, agreed that PICA and SAFE-T Acts were to be society's cure-alls and was going to swoop in and confiscate FOIDs, along with the associated weapons, with all the state funding the office was to receive to do that.

There is no blame to share among democrats, that was a feature of safe-t-act, not a bug. According to dems it was mission accomplished, and they are patting themselves on the back. The act served its purpose to add to the mayhem.

Cuz like 98% of the people on this job, most are nothing but blowhards who talk the talk but won’t walk the walk.

Most on the job are intimidated by rank and wouldn’t dare dig up dirt on a supervisor for fear of retaliation. What they fail to recognize is that this ain’t their Daddy’s Police Department anymore, and although BIA still runs the best interference in town, there are still many ways to bury it in some Stupidvisors ass if you’re even remotely intelligent and somewhat motivated.

I don’t care what little designators adorn a white shirt, because underneath it lies just another man or woman. And I can comfortably say that 98% of these people are dumber and less tenured/experienced than me. I wasn’t intimidated by rank in the service, I sure the fuck ain’t gonna be rattled by some DEI lieutenant with 12 years on the job who can’t pronounce 98% of the last names in roll call.

Respect the rank? I was always raised too - and did for most of my life. But as it means next to nothing on current day CPD, that’s getting harder to do all the time. Respect the person? Nope. That’s not an automatic understanding. When you genuinely respect ME is when you’ll get mine in return.

So put those Big Boy Pants on and get to diggin’. Here’s a convenient link to get ya started…

CCSPD in general is run ridiculous. They want nothing to do with FTA warrants. Always put it on everyone else to send them to court. Barely attempt to serve OOP’s and relay on everyone else doing a short-form. Ex-Ops will always claim manpower issues and want nothing to do with hospital watches even if it’s their warrant. Cook is also the only county in that state that requires a laughable amount of paperwork for transfers and then acts like it is the end of the world if god forbid something minor is missing. Dart needs to retire already.

"Anybody can FOIA. Why don't you do it?"

Because as the previous poster says, I'm one of the 98% on the job that won't put my name to anything, or make the least bit of effort to find one damn thing out. How many times have you seen "where's the FOP' on the blog. These fuckers won't even contact their own representatives on things that directly concern them.

Besides, that's a quote from a post about two years ago. I'm not the original poster.

Be safe.
