Where the heck did this come from?
Timothy Evans, the longtime Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, lost his re-election bid on Wednesday to Circuit Judge Charles Beach. The vote, Evans’ office said, was 144 to 109 with one spoiled ballot.
Evans, who has led the county’s courts since September 2001, will be replaced by Beach, a judge who served for years in the Pretrial Division and oversaw initial hearings for defendants newly charged with crimes.
The Chief Judge is elected every three years by a vote of the circuit’s judges. A source who was present for Wednesday’s balloting said another contender, Judge Nichole Patton, dropped out and threw her support behind Beach.
So almost a year ago, we had a non-Prickwrinkle candidate win the States Attorney spot.
Now, we have Prickwrinkle's handpicked Chief Judge launched by the circuit judges?
- Have the wheels come off the Prickwrinkle machine?
- Is Beach going to revamp the rules that Evans upended concerning bail?
- Does O'Neill Burke have a judicial ally in the ongoing battle to regain control of the justice system fighting against the "just us" people (or folks)?
- Is Dart going to have to reopen parts of the jail that he shuttered?
And lastly, if Prickwrinkle is losing her grip, Conehead is in real trouble. He might be in line for another nervous breakdown.

Evans went to John Marshall Law School, which was considered a lower ranking school. His success came from the Dem. Machine. He is 82 yrs old. Like Burke, Madigan, Vrdolyak and Toni P. he just didn’t know when to leave.

Beach was a defence attorney before being appointed to the bench. He also made a statement that Dart is in charge of the court rooms in reference to ICE coming in to arrest illegal's. and he will also follow the unsafety act. In other words Evans 2.0. Next case !

Charlie Beach was a defense attorney in traffic court for a long time. He plead everyone out, no trials. He was always nice and respectful to police.

Charley Beach was a class act when defending clients in the major courtrooms.
He always treated the coppers and witnesses with courtesy and respect, unlike many of the hallway lawyers (bad comb over guy comes to mind)

You should do your homework before celebrating. Judge Beach has made equally far left comments as Evans, regarding immigrant protections, Juvy Center, etc. and he was a defense attorney before. Let’s not celebrate just yet.

Evans' tenure was congruent with a long, slow, steady downward decline in public safety that eventually fell off a cliff in 2020 and 2021. Correlation is not necessarily causation, but then again...Hmmm

Yeap, I remember Charlie Beach from traffic court. He was a PD attorney and then private practice. He made judge and was always a gentleman who would be a very practical jurist and was always decent to CPD. I will say this, about Judge Beach is I was glad to have known Charlie Beach when he sat on the other side of the courtroom. Good Luck Judge Beach you’re one of the best I knew.

Evans was a decent alderman back in the early 80's. He worked with the police and liked the cops. Then, somehow he went south when he became a judge.
