Still Exporting Problems

Useless CPD exempts still infecting other jurisdictions:

  • For those unfamiliar with Broadview Chief of Police Thomas Mills, he is a former CPD.

Mills did not enjoy a good reputation in Chicago. In fact, he was described as "not the real police."

    We now know why.

Mills is moaning about ICE agents at the Broadview ICE facility "verbally abusing" him.

Mills is also complaining about the steps ICE has been forced to take to keep far-Left protesters at a distance from the facility. ICE has resorted to deploying non-lethal tear gas and pepper balls to disperse the protesters.

Perhaps if Mills had his officers arresting the anti-ICE protesters who are obstructing federal agents, ICE agents wouldn't be forced to use pepper balls and tear gas.

And were the protestors also "verbally abusing" him or just ICE?

Useless here and useless there.

Mills was a nice enough guy, cordial as he climbed the ranks a bit with CPD. Cordial, friendly.

But certainly in over his head, and not very competent. Luckily it seemed that in his leadership style he preferred to not rock the boat, and just kind of let things run without his interference.

Chief Mills in his bio claims he was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer - Bureau of Counter-Terrorism - Chicago Police Department. If that’s the case he should be very familiar with the Antifa terrorists who have descended upon the ICE facility in Broadview causing chaos and mayhem upon the sworn ICE agents every day. What has he done to rectify this serious and dangerous situation? He should be ashamed.

First, I do not believe an ICE agent called him a traitor and a coward. This is ridiculous verbage that comes right out of the Juicy Smollet playbook.

If you are going to aim for a lawsuit, you radicals need to come up with more realistic language that law enforcement would use in hostile situations.

Second, let's pretend they did call him a traitor and a coward. Did Big Bad Chief Mills get his feelings hurt? He was so offended by those awful words that he had to call the press?

God forbid they called him a fascist, a kidnapper, a Nazi, a racist - or maybe a curse word!

GO ICE - be strong.

Mills was actually the Police many, many moons ago. But through a bunch of merit promotions, and spending a majority of his Police life in IAB, he became what he is. He has a knack for terminating, or forcing coppers to resign from Broadview for the most benign reasons, then goes to the Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board, trying to get their state certs revoked so they can never work as the Police again. And if those coppers get other jobs, he tries to sabotage those by trying to get them fired there. He is not very well liked by Police Chiefs of the area.

Mills was another of the IAD fast track felons. Mills made Sgt and was then placed on list for Lieutenant because of the IAD Chief Juan Rivera. Then never had to work another day on the street. He must be the smartest officer in the Department? Wrong!

When Rivera bails out of IAD because of bad investigations he signed off on by guys like Mills, Barz and Brown. The standard HQ process is to promote the bad investigators to cover the mess up? Shut them up with a promotion. And tow the false line….

Just look at the Lieutenant test scandal that came out of 35th street and who made it to the list? Barz, Fenner, Mills and so on……all came out of IAD?

Why do you think Mills left the Department so fast? It was catching up with him……they realized the fast promotions to Commander and higher ranks were all bad decisions. And that his competence in the job was falsely given.
As Charlie Kirks said, Prove me wrong!

For all the CPD white-shirts out there...let's be clear: the only ones impressed by your resume are the office dollies who you let go home early. We all know there's a political pipeline for you to go to a sweet spot in some small municipality after retirement like this Chief Mills. But when the s*** really hits the fan (like it is in Broadview), the typical CPD disfunction and spinelessness comes into the national spotlight. To not stand up for real law enforcement and real danger (as ICE is facing) but stand next to Lori Lightfoot is a typical blue city weasel move. Just because we accept lawlessness here doesn't mean we let it spread to other parts of the country.

Political corruption and ineptness. Do these towns ever do research before hiring these clowns? A simple google search would have exposed a whole bunch of shit he was involved in along with Cesario, Barz and Muscolino.

“Mills made plaintiffs’ daily tasks more difficult and hindered their ability to work overtime, develop cases, and participate in team arrests, and at the same time threatened to remove plaintiffs from the team for failing to produce arrests. Once, when the plaintiffs were assigned to pursue a dangerous felon, they were falsely told that the team would provide necessary back-up and support; however, when plaintiffs arrived at the scene, the team was not present and Mills sent them a text message stating ‘Be Careful,’” the suit said.

When Mills was a Lt in Narcotics, it was a competition between him and Kimble over who could be dumber. The tie went to the commander, but Mills was no slouch in the stupid department. He targeted white supervisors who Kimble didn't like and was not shy about arrest quotas. Another double merit success story.

Rivera was another corruption IAD Chief, he just wasn’t as bad as Talley. Talley was more criminal and should be under federal investigation for more than one reason.

While serving as the Chief of the BIA, Rivera cleared his friend Lt. D.B from the Traffic Section of all wrongdoing knowing the Lt. D.B. had sexually harassed a female officer under hos command. L.t. D.B. bragged to other officers including me about doing it. Rivera was aware of that as well. After the CR# was filed, Rivera personally called Lt. D.B and informed him of the CR. Lt. D.B. then ordered the female officer to take down all of her family photos off of her partition, micromanaged her, had other officers monitoring her and told everyone in the Traffic Section not to speak to her. The officers in the Traffic Section isolated her, just so they could keep leaving work early while she was micromanaged and ostracized if she was two minutes late. Rivera eventually cleared Lt. D.B. of all wrongdoing.

Just like the rest, Mills was a sergeant in the IAD who was quickly placed on the Lieutenant’s list by IAD Chief Juan Rivera after he buried and closed a few handpicked CR#’s. Sounds familiar? Mills was involved in the IAD corruption just like the others that run there and screw over officers hoping to get the bump.

Federal agents in the performance of their offcial duties cannot be arrested by local law enforcement. The Feds would have to bring charges against them. Start all the local investigations you want they are going no where. See case law from Ruby Ridge where an FBI sniper shot and killed two unarmed civilians. Locals tried to charge him with murder and judge threw it out. FBI guy was suspended for two weeks instead.

When he was in Lts. class, before they were actually promoted, he bragged about how he was going to 25 and after 6 months he was going to be the tac lt. Sure enough, 6 months playing lt on the watch and escamerit makes him the tac lt. Then a cushy spot in a unit, then capt., then.. Well you know how it goes. Just another example of a goof who thinks he knows everything because he must be smart if they keep promoting him.

Retired CPD/FED - KNOCK IT OFF ABOUT MILLS. I served with him when he was on the DEA/TF - he was the real police. When my group went out and arrested a guy in Englewood the arrestee’s family started getting rowdy. Mills stepped in and put a stop to the crap by shouting in a booming voice look M$&?&@ I’m the real police and unlike these feds I will &$?! you up! After that everybody wanted Mills on their team. I had a year on CPD in 16 before I went FED so I wasn’t as salty as Mills and I couldn’t clear a corner like that! My other CPD hero was nicknamed Butter and he was a Marshals Task Force Officer. He pulled an ex con off me and my partner, body slammed him and made the guy formally apologize to us both in English and not street talk. I always wanted CPD with me on arrest operations. Especially guys who originally trained in 011 and 002. Those guys were fearless. I did dislike the fact they enjoyed working nights and weekends. One of the CPD caused us to cancel a golf outing to arrest some guy on the west side at 2:00 AM in the morning Friday night and we had a 8AM tee off. That guy was not a good officer.
