Hiya Ed!

Released in July after serving ten months (of a two year sentence), guess who's wandering around downtown? (click for larger view):

Picking up all the envelopes being held at an unknown PO Box no doubt.

Looking a bit grumpy there, for a 10 month vacation, with room and board and 3 squares provided, at no charge.

He reminds me of when I saw Jesse Jackson at police headquarters a couple of years ago. Jesse was sitting practically all alone in the lobby with only one or two measly henchmen at his side. He looked and moved like an animatronic puppet from Showbiz Pizza. Now I see this picture of Burke and I’m liking the two of them as zombies going to the mall in Dawn of the Dead. They flock to city spots Like the undead did to the mall, on only instinct when their bodies and minds should be relaxing in the Bahamas

Almost better then the pension. Pecora, who resigned from the police department shortly before heading to prison, has apparently continued his service to the city post-conviction. Municipal payroll records list him as a $51.41-per-hour “asphalt laborer” for the Chicago Department of Transportation.

Oh no SCC. He’s there as a crime fighter. We all know how much he loved this city. Now, he wants to help clean it up. 10 years would not be enough for him, 10 months is a sweet deal.I ask the question: Would you accept a penalty of 10 months in a “nice” prison at the end of your life, when you’re sleeping most of the day, to live the previous eighty years in the lap of luxury? To be treated like royalty, to have bodyguards for you and your family? To be driven anywhere you or your family members want to go? To always have the funds to do the things you want to do? I bet a lot would say, “send me to the joint!”.

Kept an appearance of legitimacy while they stole. The animals in charge today have no limits to their greed or stupidity. They will take the eggs of the golden goose then devour the goose in a frenzy. Blue cities will not last 50 years under the socialists, there will be no 10 percent for the big guys, it will be slash and burn, a biblical swarm of locusts to steal everything. Within 10 years there will be dozens of Detroit, all sitting back on their piles of shit demanding bailouts . The bailouts will not come. Sell and get out while you can to a small town in the south with better weather, low taxes, and no democrats.

A quarter century = 25 calender years.

A quarter century = a generation having survived 1st decade and updated as needed to survive 2nd decade, now beginning their following decades of living life as it is.

So, thusly:

1925 - 1950 = the greatest generation, tempered by the fires of wars.

1950 - 1975 = spawn of the greatest generation, pampered by abundance of neccessities, yet still facing the realities of reality.

1975 - 2000 = spawn of the spawn of the greatest generation, so saturated in said abundancies that perceiving realities requires striving to perceive them.

2000 - 2025 = spawn of the spawn of the spawn of the greatest generation, effectively Alfred E. Newman on steroids.

Experience of those commenting upon our city and county governments' past and present grifters can only be based upon memories of experiences, researched histories not directly experienced, imaginations and their illusions of actualities, and pure fabrications, spouted as certainties.

Politics is always current to present generation's qualities.

Yes, Grasshopper, this means even Fredo had more common sense than our current Alfred E. Newman generation.

What, me worry?

Fix it now or forever hold your peace. The problem is, that in Illinois the runners in any race are predetermined. Then the candidate that has been "chosen" is backed financially until they win.

Are you kidding me? When she was the Det chiefs admin sgt she would snake out of as many day off cancelled details she could and stick it to the other sgts. On the off chance she was deployed she stayed and hid at 36th st. The Tamale lady, from the back of the yards, who was deported had more experience running something.

Isn't federal time 80% of your sentence, or did he cheat on that too?

"I’d take Ed Burke ANYDAY not just before but especially now, over what we have now."

Welcome to Chicago, where we're forced to settle for the least worst.

This city has been corrupted pretty much since it's inception. The question is whether that corruption works to your benefit or someone else's.

He served a very small fraction of his time. He was let out even earlier than usual because he’s old and fit some anti mass incarceration law that pig Kim Kardashian conned Trump into passing in his first term.

He was let out early under the First Step Act that Trump supported and signed in his first term at Kim Kardashians request.

Scope of Impact: Within the first year of enactment, more than 3,000 federal prisoners were released based on changes to the good-time credits calculation formula under the First Step Act, and more than 2,000 inmates benefited from sentence reductions from the retroactive application of the Fair Sentencing Act of 2010.[41][42] Additionally, nearly 350 people were approved for elderly home confinement and more than 100 received compassionate release sentence reductions.

We can expect Mike Madigan to get out soon under the First Step Act.

My God you’re right. Got his beard to prove he’s a man again, must’ve been somebody’s bitch. I know it was federal prison, but I didn’t think it was “federal pound me in the ass prison”. Office Space love it.
