Retirees, Beware!

Democrat politicians in Springfield are at it again:

  • Illinois voters soundly rejected a progressive state income tax because it was a path to tax retirees. That isn’t stopping state lawmakers from trying again.

Lawmakers introduced a new bill to end Illinois’ long-standing flat income tax and replace it with a progressive structure – a move that could impose taxes on retirees and others.

The move comes as Illinois tax revenues have reached record highs. Illinoisans face some of the nation’s biggest tax burdens.

This isn’t even the legislature’s first progressive tax attempt this year. And for a second time, former Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn is pushing the idea.

Read that third paragraph again:

  • The move comes as Illinois tax revenues have reached record highs. Illinoisans face some of the nation’s biggest tax burdens.

Record high tax collections, but they still want more....because they have a spending problem.

You never see anything about cutting costs and expenditures, just plans to steal more money.

Stop voting for democrats.

I still have family here, so I’ve been sticking around but this will seal the deal for me. Waited all this time to get to this point in life and if I only get 2 years out of it after decades of Democrats abusing my tax dollar when I was working- I’m gone for sure. You’ll get no more gas tax from me, no more sales tax, no more bullshit on my ComEd. I’ve already been mulling it over bc of Johnson. Bye

I called this years ago. Several unsuccessful tries have occurred before. Any new legislation will be for the new retirees. If they ever fuck with my pension I am coming back to Illinois or Chicago and swan diving in front of a CTA bus, then calling the attorneys in the ad on the side of the bus that hits me while I wait for the ambulance.

Can you imagine retirees’ income from 401(k)s, IRAs , Social Security and pensions being taxed. We already paid and we don't get the full Social Security stipend as most others.

Did not our nation's President recently re state the vital neccessity of restoring honesty to our nation's elections, via the purgings of our states' registered voter data bases'?

And the cleansings of our nation's states' politicals of most deceitfull natures and resulting activities relevant thereto?

With the first step being our nation's federal elections being the most vital to restore?

Not a problem. I’ll be heading to Texas soon, and none of this will matter. And I’m taking a lifetime of acquired wealth with me to spend there as I see fit. I’d imagine many more like me will follow suit and just leave this hell hole.

You hope it will apply for new retirees, it’s more logical to assume you’ll be screwed than spared. There’s states that tax retirements whether you live there or not. This is Illinois.

I’m guessing they will also tax the pension if you move out of Illinois. They will claim since it is an Illinois pension, Illinois is going to tax you no matter where you live. Chicago pensions will not be exempt

Taxes.

How are taxes harvested? Aka, collected?

Shall we think of the ways?

1. Witheld before what remains is disbursed.

2. Added to billing and paid when billing is paid.

3. If billing is not fully paid, then: no soup or services are provided or confiscations ensue.

Any other ways?

Why on God's green earth would anyone on a pension from another state, move to Illinois?? Oh, that no tax on pensions?? Check your sales taxes, property taxes, energy costs, insurance rates for autos and homes, gas taxes, crime occurrences, just to name a few. Not including the Hunyucks running the state. If they have moved there, they deserve every bit of pain financially they are asking for. Oh, and now those tax breaks that the Orange Man has passed, you can't take those either.
