Murderer Gets $3 Million???
The CTA must pay $3 million to a woman who killed and dismembered her North Side landlord after an Illinois appeals court ruled that a trial judge properly shielded jurors from learning about the then-pending murder case during her personal injury lawsuit against the transit agency.
Unfortunately for Sandra Kolalou, also known as Sandra White, she will be in prison until at least July 2076, when she will be 90 years old.
In a December 31 order, the Illinois First District Appellate Court confirmed a $2.8 million jury verdict against the Chicago Transit Authority stemming from a 2018 bus crash in which Kolalou was struck while walking in a crosswalk. The court rejected the CTA’s arguments that the case should have been delayed or the verdict reduced because Kolalou was later charged, and ultimately convicted, of murder and related crimes.
It certainly looks like the CTA lawyers screwed the pooch on this one:
- Those social media posts showed Kolalou “cliff-jumping, swimming with the dolphins, roller-skating, playing tennis, wearing high heels, and traveling to far-away destinations such as Egypt, South Africa, and Mexico” while she was experiencing debilitating leg and back pain, the CTA claimed in a filing.
Instead, they missed deadlines and hung their hats on a murder trial that hadn't even taken place.
On the other hand, the family or estate of the murder victim would seems to have an excellent opportunity to sue to offender for damages....may we suggest something in the neighborhood of $3 million?

Despite the pending charges, a Cook County judge allowed the personal injury case to move forward under Kolalou’s maiden name, Walker, and barring any reference to the criminal case or the fact that Kolalou was being kept in the Cook County Jail as the civil trial was held. Thats the problem. The judge knew what they were doing barring this info. I guess the back pain didn't stop her from butchering the body and hauling it out down a flight of stairs.

Love the pictures memorializing her lifelong suffering from limiting personal injuries curtailing her physical activities. Cook County judge (D) took care of the murderer and her attorney. Thanks judge for being so fair and impartial with an accused murderer ensuring the plaintiff's attorney can get paid his/her fair share with CTA cash monies with the bump from your gavel.
Money talks judge. Keep yourself in good standing with the only party in charge and your fellow Bar Association collaborators. Do the right thing judge on behalf of the ordinary people not the established legal cabal. Cross the legal movers and shakers and your robe will be stripped leaving you naked as a jaybird. Instead of looking down from the bench, you'll be looking up to the bench for crossing the democrat controlling legal authority in total control of the Crooked County justice system. Big court ordered settlements make the justice inspired legal world go round.
