They finally wising up and moved Area 1 Watson from the D-Unit and from being in charge of 500+ members down to only having a driver. All promotions aren’t good promotions. Street Deputy is the worse of all promotions, but that’s what brown nosing and hanging out in the Supe’s office and flaunting your chest get you. You’ll get $40 extra dollars on your paycheck, to work late hours in patrol, to swing from one part of the city to the other all times of night, waken up out of your sleep more often, serve as the incident commander and to put your incompetence on full display. You’ll be the fall guy and forced into retirement or demoted by the next Superintendent.
They are trying to force Area One Watson out. SD is a retirement position. Most leave after being over worked with 25 plus years on.

Anyone who is off the list it will go to about 60-70 because of the merit with only one or maybe two classes left. Sucks if you’re 70-100. It used to be guaranteed if you scored under 100. 002 has been in the last 15 years or so where the most unqualified bosses land. The district gets slower every year. Therefore you can put a certain demographic in charge. F. Waller was great. T. Williams was whatever, King-Smith nice lady who belonged at HQ, Boyd nice guy, Wallace depended on what side of the bed who woke up on, the woman after Wallace was terrible (OT scam and medical abuser), and Herb Williams is beyond terrible. You had mass Exodus under King-Smith, The scam female, and Herb Williams. 002 is the slowest of the South Side districts that a certain demographic can command. Therefore you're going to get the worst bosses. No different than finding the biggest house mouse females to run 016 or 020. 002 isn't full of hard chargers. Most of the officers are young hispanics now. That wasn't the case 15 years ago.

002 isn’t a bad district to work in. Not all ghetto.. the beach is the biggest headache beside the incompetent commander Herbert Williams . The reason all good supervisors are chased away is simply due to the fact that herb makes their lives miserable whenever his stupid decisions are questioned. He simply cannot spell in any emails he sends and retaliates against you if you do not agree and follow in order. People speaking highly of Don Jerome obviously don't know the other side of him. He constantly interjected himself and his CI's into investigations looking for awards. His CI's were usually wrong. When Jerome was told his CI's have no clue what they are talking about he would get pissed off. He demanded to see case files. Remember Detectives have to take notes that are part of the record on everything they are given. Jerome literally gave alternate theories to serious crimes. He did this to fluff his ego and try to become Superintendent. He was good to the troops for sure but he's got another side most officers didn't see.
