Chicago Public Schools says it has no plans to shorten the school year in an effort to save money.
Despite allegations from the Chicago Teacher’s Union, CPS says that reducing instructional time in a classroom is not an option and would go against the district’s five-year strategic plan.
CPS admits to facing significant financial challenges, but says at no point was the district considering shortening the school year.
Johnny already can't read, write or do basic math, and the CTU wants to reduce classroom hours?
Like we said, no one in Chicago is getting their tax dollars worth in education measures, so everyone is due a refund for the "product" put out by CTU, starting with pay cuts.

I hope taxpayers realize the CTU combined to CPS is the death spiral of home ownership here in Chicago.
The CTU along with the SEIU should BOTH be striped of any and all credentials. Also they both should be brought up on terrorist charges against the United States of America. They both help in election fraud any helping to get communist elected by stuffing the ballot boxes and brain washing our children to believe in socialism.

Think about what a joke of a job a CPS teacher is. Dwindling class sizes so less work. Every weekend and summer off , along with every holiday. They only pay 2 percent of their salary towards their pension. Compare that to 9 percent for police. The more perks they get the more they cry that they don’t have enough. Fuck these assholes. Time to start trimming the fat and layoff a bunch of these hacks. .

Start with Douglas High school with something like 30 students. Closest school to Mayor BJ’s house and he doesn’t even send his kids there.
Deport, Deport, Deport. That’s how to save $$$. CPS costs over $20,000.00 per year per student. Plus you have free breakfast, free lunch, free and waived fees. The illegal aliens need to be deported to save the financial integrity of the U.S. A bankruptcy and insolvent city and its citizens like Chicago should not be required to bear the financial burdens from a foreign country. Remember, just four illegal aliens cost $80,000.00 plus per year.
Ah heck CTU members. Take the next three summer months off. But don't forget to threaten to strike in the fall after three months of summertime off leisure for higher living wages. And if you are low on funds get some type of summer employment possibly non union for some extra cash like everyone else. Then your bills could be paid and the masses of public education dependents in training will not be interrupted. And if you get a second job, you can pay your fair share by doing your part investing collected taxation into the city's corporation for public education conglomerate.
Its time for "choice". Bring on school vouchers as alternative education.
If teachers are so valuable and indispensable then they shouldn’t be allowed to strike just like police, fire and air traffic controllers.

There is only one Union in Chicago that should be eliminated, and that Union is CTU. Close down the entire Chicago Public School System, sell the half empty School buildings, and have the teachers reapply for their positions at half of what their current salary is. They are extremely overpaid. They have completely failed the students of Chicago.
Things will only get worse (if that’s possible) until they dismantle CTU.

Not religious here, but have you noticed that the archdiocese will close a school with a couple of hundred students saying it can’t afford to keep it open, yet the city will keep schools built for 2,000 students open when there are less than 200 students there. This makes no sense.
The kids don’t go to school. The Parents don’t parent. The teachers don’t teach. Send everyone home for lack of performing their obligations. Shut it all down and start over.

New CPS policy: If the teacher does not have 70% of their students at grade level by the end of the academic year, they are on probation. If they do not have 70% of their students at grade level at the end of the second year, they do not get their contract renewed and put on "do-not-hire" list.
Not only that, but according to the plaintiff's attorney for the Dr. Nassar victims, teachers' unions in general cover for pedophiles and child abusers. He cited the AFT as the worst, but I would bet that CTU isn't far behind on that count.
