Another Blown $$$ Opportunity
Chicago missed the casino boat a long time ago. Then the River North Casino has turned into a boondoggle of construction delays and missed revenue projections while the suburban Rivers Casino turned into the #1 casino in the state that prints money for Des Plaines.
Now it's going to turn into a lawsuit that Conehead's people will likely lose:
Bally's casino is warning Chicago aldermen it will sue the city if the City Council does not reverse its decision to legalize video gambling terminals in bars and convenience stores — and the company is offering a deal it says would replace the revenue the city was counting on.
At a committee hearing, Bally's senior vice president reminded aldermen that a 2022 agreement struck by the Lightfoot administration gave the company a monopoly on virtual slot machines within Chicago city limits. Legalizing video gambling terminals, known as VGTs, outside Bally's property would render that contract null and void, the company said.
The City Council approved legalizing VGTs as part of its late 2025 budget.
If the contract is voided, Bally's said it would halt its annual $4 million licensing payments to the city and would no longer honor its commitments to diversity and union hiring.
Chicago politicians could f#@$ up a one-car funeral.

It’s all going according to plan. The casino doesn’t know they have to give the politicians money towards their campaigns and things will move along a lot quicker.
If there's an upside, the city was just going to blow all that money on BS projects, illegal immigrants, internal theft, and DEI silliness anyway, and still be broke. Not a dime of that money would have gone to plug budget holes, let alone meet legal responsibilities such as funding pensions.
I'm sure ballys would love to get rid of the DEI obligation. They've been spending an inordinate amount of time trying to hire qualified people of diverse lineage to fill positions. Meanwhile people who sent resumes that are more than qualified are being payed over.
Kinda related: Anyone know why the Cumberland Professional Center off of Cumberland and Lawrence is always so crowded with very high-end vehicles? Place just happens to contain a Bella's with video gaming and pretty much no other businesses that would warrant that kind of heavy traffic, wink, wink.
BJ is about to get kicked right in the balls, O'Hares 1.8 billion dollar expansion project is facing a slew of racial discrimination law suits. The contractor in-charge of the projects is facing severally law suits ( and maybe more once others learn they can sue) for racial discrimination and bullying in the work place. Several BLACK MEN are filing suits ,others have retained lawyers over the way they are being treated .No raises no promotions and other people getting credit for their work. This may be the one thing tats sends old BJ to the Nut House.
bwahahahahahaha
get the popcorn., make sure the 50# sack is ready!
I hope Bally's eliminates DEI hiring and union employees. Both are bad for the people. Hire unqualified and can't fire bad employees is a guarantee to lose!
Socialists don’t care care about rules, agreements, contracts, etc. Look how many this clown has violated without repercussions. You should have a thread on how dangerous the far left socialists are to us. They are more dangerous than the criminals we deal with everyday.
Politicians MUST benefit from any deal...its the Chicago way...money talks!
Video poker machines could get our pension up to snuff , but we all know what kind of thieves are doubling as politicians.
