Looks like downtown is going to screw up the first two weeks of September with canceling days off and unspecified deployments?
- OT: has anyone read the Mexican days off cancelled amc message? Could they have made that any more complicated? My goodness.
Who has a copy? From what we've heard, there is some sort of "alert" about possible cancellations and notices about mass arrest procedures being on standby....which is a joke because the chances of a mass arrest incident are near zero.

We are not slaves. Hit the medical. As an officer we knew we wouldnt be able to take certain days off if we were scheduled to work like NYE but if you happened to be off then enjoy it. Now these coward bosses treat us as slaves. Not being allowed to have your RDO anytime they allow the city to schedule an event is ridiculous. Hopefully Ursetti has a spine and changes this but not holding my breath

It sits directly next door to a real union (local 130), but isn’t a real “union”. Chicago police would be better off being represented by local 150 engineers. At least they’ve figured out how to get it’s members double time for involuntary days off canceled. The fop is currently being ran by psychopaths who will deny till they die that they’ve done anything wrong or admit they’ve set cops back decades in terms of having a real seat at the bargaining table. What’s better? Working in construction with a set Mon-Fri, weekends/ holidays off schedule? Where you master a trade and get to see what you’ve accomplished with your hands? Pfft, no way man. I’d rather get paid only time and a half to work 10-20 days in a row, 12 hour days, while watching savages commit crimes right in front of me knowing I can’t do shit about it, with a camera attached to me watching my every move waiting for me to screw up. I’d rather have no time to spend with my family, but instead sit in a squad car and play with my phone, hoping to God I don’t have to interact with the public. All while being at the whim of completely inept bosses who couldn’t manage a Walgreens let alone supervise a major metropolitan police dept. Yea, I made the right choice.

The ridiculous part is that this event is the same weekend every year. It's nothing new. CPD can't figure a schedule or a plan. They have a year to do it and can't seem to get it done. If you have any friends or family please let them know to stay away Chicago on that weekend. It will be a disaster !

Hahahaha. Try living in 008. Thats every night all night. The weekends it’s from 8pm till about 4am or longer Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Then a pop up day or two during the week. You guys in Beverly are rookies but then again, you’re from Beverly so you’ll complain about anything and everything. Garfield ridge is a drag strip and drifting haven. You guys are spoiled. Same with 016. You won’t get any sympathy from anyone who lives in 008 or 016… they deal with the same stuff all weekend in 016. Liberal Beverly snobs crying once again because “it can’t happen here, it’s Beverly!!” It happens in every district in the city every weekend when these guys drive around all night long, you’re nothing special.

They do their stupid donuts and spin outs, run when the cops show up and do it again a few miles away. Rinse, lather and repeat all weekend and all summer long. Nonsense to cancel and have people were 12 hours for so many days. This is what happens when you allow people to do whatever they want without consequences. The past couple weekends we have been mandatory extended in 011 for large gatherings and drag racing. Officers are exhausted and these bosses are idiots.

I read it 5 times and still don’t know if I’m working or off on some of the days. It says all watches rdo’s cancelled, but then next to it has specifies days off groups that are cancelled. So are we all cancelled Friday thru Sunday or not?

Speaking of canceled days off, what is going on with the dispatchers at the OEMC? Has anyone been fired? Someone asked this question in a previous discussion, “does the discharged loan have to be reported as income?” The answer is yes (for the majority of the dispatchers and everyone else who fraudulently obtained the loan or improperly used the loan proceeds). Mr. Tax Man, please set up shop at the Chicago OEMC to get your numbers, you will earn a promotion, rise through the ranks, and make a name for yourself.
