Um....that's NOT a "policy issue," no matter what language a paid liar lawyer dresses it up as.
That is corruption, that is misappropriation, that is Theft by a strict interpretation of the ILCS.
You don't get to use Union Funds for personal purchases. Period.

What WAS said, was the audit firm found no evidence of misappropriation of funds, no embezzlement and no wrongdoing.
Also something of note: purchases made were reimbursed, so the lodge wasn’t shorted money.
He also relayed that an organization as large and complex as ours is going to have a lot of money moving through it. Donations, dues, operations costs and the like.
Finally he said that recommendations will like the made to put rules in place, in writing, for spending limits or things of that sort.

The attorney first and foremost stated after nearly thirty “ums “ that it cost the Lodge forty thousand dollars for an audit by a person he personally hired . Forty thousand ? The lawyer speak began with “ yes “ the Fop Union credit card was used when Catanzara was on vacation in Jamaica but it’s more of an issue with the rules which he can use the credit card .
When asked how much his bill for representing the “ Lodge “ both Catanzara and the “ Lodges attorney responded “ he has not submitted his bill yet !”
This is typical Catanzara bs because If the members were aware of how large it was the Lodge would be bombarded with calls on a daily basis about this .
There was no talk about the upcoming charges levied by Nenad against the 1st VP . Only about seventy five people stayed to listen to the “ drop program “ and other tidbits of info that Catanzara’s droned about .
The Fop Executive Board should meet and demand a bill from the “ Lodges attorney “ be submitted prior to the next Board meeting.

Having been on a Board of Directors at one time, using a company credit card for personal expenses is generally not allowed. The bills/receipts must be presented to the finance chairman and justified. It depends on what the " personal expenses" actually are. Usually a board president has some leeway and has an expense account.

I did exactly what you described. Municipality I had worked for issued their Public Works employees gas cards. One Friday afternoon heading home from work I stopped to fill up. By mistake I swiped the village gas card. By the time I caught what I had done I had already pulled the trigger and pumped a little over a dollar of gas. Thought I was going to be fired for theft no questions asked. Monday morning I brought in all my issued gear for what I believed would be the final exit interview. When I told my manager what transpired he just smiled and said "not the first or the last". Employees do it every weekend and just reimburse the employer Monday morning.
