This sickens me. Worse, every spring and fall, the palette and chisel on north Dearborn, sells beautiful art for $300 or less. The students donate their art.
It's really fabulous. I've seen art at that sale, at galleries for $10,000 or more. That's right, high end gallery owners shop at that sale.
They sell oils, watercolors, sculpture, etc. The framing is amazing. No shipping, no bidding, and most art is not even close to $300.

Serious question because I don’t know the story behind the artwork. Can someone explain exactly what happened? What was purchased, how much did it cost, who owns it, and what FOP rule/bylaw was violated? Not defending anybody. John spent $10,800 of the members dues, violating the $10k policy. His weak ass board retroactively approved it because John cuts them checks for thousands, for "good will," aka, bribes to allow him to spend our dues however he wants.

To the commentators above. The meetings are a complete waste of time. You barely learn anything. As soon as Kitty hears something he doesn’t like, he throws a temper tantrum and leaves. So, John, when you tell people to show up , maybe grow a pair, man up, and answer some questions.
