Blue states with strong teachers’ unions overwhelmingly have worse student literacy scores than Republican states where educators don’t have as much say over policy, a shocking new analysis found.
At least eight of the ten states where students had the worst literacy scores were liberal strongholds with politically powerful teachers’ unions, while just five were Republican and one was a swing state, a recent assessment from the Progressive Policy Institute (PPI) found.
New York — where more than half of third- to fifth grade students failed their reading proficiency exams this year — was among the worst-performing states, and also had some of the strongest teachers’ unions.
They're in the business of raising money for left-wing causes, electing radical socialists and fracturing the family structure. Kids aren't there to be educated - the kids are there to be exploited and used as a cudgel to beat parents and taxpayers into submission.
They're succeeding, too, or have succeeded in blue state shitholes.

Gotta start telling the teacher unions they're all fired as soon as they go on strike. Want to negotiate in good faith? no problem.

most of the kids on those public schools only go there for the free breakfast, lunch and dinner, they are not worried about that diploma, they know they will get one no matter what they do

Kids can’t come out normal after exposure to CPS/CTU. Quit the job and moved to a red state after 10 years. Best move ever. Our children are doing great. Using local public schools and a Christian high school. Best move ever.

There are some hidden CPS gems. Some. I’m not even going to name the school for fear of it going down the tubes. Very few CPS schools across the city. And to be honest. Not to offend any you St Christina CULT members who hold your noses up towards us.
Your children are NOT getting a better education. They are not. Our children are more advanced with not hours & hours of homework. Which in turn means- more family time, outside riding bikes, playing being kids.
Your teachers are trying their best I know, but.. that’s all I’ll say because they are parish members. But it is what it is. If you child is struggling at Christina & are considered switching. Do not worry at all and you’ll make the best decision. Worry about high school at Rice or Marist etc

Not a shock. Too many adults can't even sign their names. Recent news shows that college math majors need to be taught remedial, basic math functions. Can you imagine the high school grades in pre-calc and trig that got those kids into the big time schools, yet the kids can't add?

there is a strong connection between these unions and the amount of money they donate to the liberal politicians. No liberal democrat in his/her right mind is going to vote against the union wishes and cut off their cash cow. The intent is to smoother any education system other than the failing public school system.
The Teachers and Laborers are the only unions the Feds didn’t “lead into temptation”.
