A Chicago police officer unlawfully stopped and searched a student walking home from the bus, telling him and the person he was with that they were targeted because they were “ugly as f---,” according to findings released by a watchdog group.

Actually, there was an ugly that was passed in 1881 that would result in fines. Unfortunately it was repealed in 1974. I blame the Consent Decree for the lack of training. They take should reintroduce the law. Nothing worse than a sight for sore eyes.

I saw a video where an ongoing raising hell disturbance where the opposing parties called each other crackheads, scrubs, b*tches, hypes, hoes leading up to at least a dozen N-words directed at each other all captured on a body worn camera. And threating physical violence gestures and body language. Hate had a home here. The officer intervened and stated to the effect that you people need to get along and be more respectful and tolerant. Well the officer got a complaint that he raised his voice and "you people" was interpreted as a racist expression exclusively directed at a certain demographic. You can't win. And unfortunately, the decent people who want to lead normal, peaceful, uneventful lives are tainted by neighbors who only reinforce negative stereotypes on camera for all to see.
Calling someone ugly on the other hand, is totally avoidable and requires intervention, counseling, reading dept. orders, reviewing policies, and computer based e-learning ad nauseum leading up to possible discipline. Ten day suspension? Not so fast COPA Karens.

While I agree it’s a thankless job, too much petty oversight and you should make it work for you, it boils down to the reason most of us wanted this job as kids: you gotta lock up the bad guy. The whole “evil only needs good men to do nothing” quote. I have several years on the job but respectfully, if your attitude is to do nothing, then you’re burnt out and should maybe leave. You’ve became one of the people we despise, taking six figures of taxpayer money to do nothing, like a typical Westsider.

Do your customers cuss you out non stop and tell you or your coworkers to go fuck yourself, just because? Have your customers ever hit you or caused you to think you're about to get hurt and miraculously at the last second something changes? (Due to my prayers btw) Do you scan your customers to see if they have bulges and weapons? Do you scan them mentally and think and process in your mind to see if there’s a crime, who the victim is, if there’s no crime, if they’re a danger to themselves or others, if they need help, mentally physically etc., do you also, have a radio in your ears while your talking to your customers updating you your entire shift and dispatching you to jobs while you also find law breaking activity along the way at times? Do you do tons of paperwork on your customers each time you interact with them? Do you lose sleep and feel the exhaustion at times and the thankless society we live in towards you and your job? Do you save your customers lives and never be barely recognized for it? Do you save the lives of people that hate you? I have! Many times, I won’t go on anymore but there are lots of differences, count your blessings you don’t lose holidays time away from family and I’ll bet you sleep well and are in healthy shape I write better than this usually but I’m not going to waste time correcting anything but know there are major differences I used to have a job like yours and I have to fight to stay healthy physically otherwise can end up being a statistic which won’t be my case!
