Airport Openings

From the comments:
  • ***********ALERT TO THE MEDIA******
    **From 35th street disgusted boss**

Oh No! Say it ain't so! Looks like shortshanks who is promising more police on the streets is telling the citizens he has more police in the academy! The surprise is that 80 officers will be in the airports by November 1st, due to jimmy maurers talk, about being short! Seems shortshanks does not want the media coming after him on the shortage at the airports!
We were speaking to a recent airport retiree the other day, and (s)he told us it wasn't unusual for O'Hare to run the overnight watch with a single officer in recent months. You are reading that correctly - the second busiest airport in the nation and prime terror target with a single officer overnight working an airport that covers how many square miles?

WTF is Shortshanks thinking? Or is he not thinking at all?

Sory we heard was that the city received federal funding for 80 officers specifically for airports. Similar to the money they got last year for Mass Transit. So 80 recruits go into the academy, 80 senior officers go to the airports. The streets are no safer for the citizens or us.

Yeah remember merit is on the up and up. JFraud clouted his driver into a sgt last class. Jfraud is the worse hypocrite that has ever been placed in control of the dept. He is a joke and the CPD has become a joke.

How shocking but what does merit really mean. Carothers was made a commander because his brother kept his mouth shut. Jfled couldn't manage the dairy queen much less a police dept.

How about the fact that Mayor Daley's OMP stole 3 million form the Fire Departments vehilce fund? The second busiest airport, prime terror target has crash rigs that are over 22 years old. There are no spare crash rigs left in the shops amd the engines are on their last legs and working with leaking and hulks for spares that have consistant pump failures. And these are the front line rigs that are supposed to be there to protect the million people who travel through the airport everyday.

The FAA has no clue that the money they give to Chicago for vehicle upgrades is being funneled off for Daley's pet project and friends money trough.... the O'Hare Modernization Program.

I wonder how his campaign would go if the public knew that he is endangering their lives so he can make his friends rich?

Agreed airports are short! But we need more NOW on the streets where the blood is running everywhere! If something happens at the airports districts units can and will back up fellow officers stuff another 80+ into airports and do airport officers respond to district situations? Not to flame or insult airport coppers but the answer is NO!

How many people have been shot at airport? How many coppers been seriously battered? How much blood flowing in airports? how many children killed? how about the airport gang situations? There are more questions than answers!

The coppers are going to airports as aviation dept. paid for their training but shortshanks rants about how he is putting another 100 LOL on the STREETS! Another lie to the public I presume as usual in the criminal inc. world of the daley crime family!

The public needs to show some outrage all the tax money being thrown away, and daley allowing billions to be wasted on the illegals coming by the millions into his city of corruption! While Arizona tries to enforce federal laws 88% of Arizona residents you know the people that pay their taxes and bills, want the illegals gone daley burke and the other 49 brainless want more illegals flooding this city taking all OUR MONEY! Anarchy will rule and soon!

My friend is doa police, has to qualify with weapon, went through our academy,is the police, but yet thanks to when big mouth maurer was in charge cannot carry a weapon "on duty"! Only off duty what logic is that? goofs at the top for sure! At least then they could back up our CPD officers in any crisis! doa police are more like overpaid security guards thanks to the doa commissioner!

A boss at O'Hare told me a few years ago that O'Hare is the city's "Golden Egg". He told me that O'Hare brings the city 23% of its revenue. You would think that the mayor would make sure O'Hare and Midway would be properly staffed and well secured. One person on midnights? Horribly mismanaged, I would say.

The reason they have to send POs to the airport is that they have been diverting federal and airline money that was meant to pay for the police. Oddly engough, there are lots of brass at the airports, but no workers.
The same for Aviation police, but they can not even get weapons for self defense. They are backing up whats left of CPD, makeing traffice stops with no protection.

There are five (5) full duty officers that are STILL assigned to ARP. Why aren't they back on the street? One of them is a new mother who hasn't finished her 18 month Probation on the street but she is classified as Full Duty. Jody (Who would name their son Jody) are you listening.

And now there will be 24 hour liquor carts in the airport. Our overworked officers will be dealing with drunk travelers while criminals run rampant on the streets.

Another great decision by the mayor. We seem to be better at creating problems than solving them.

The reason CPD is at the airports is Shortshanks won't arm Aviation Police. According to Federal Regulations since Aviation police aren't armend, Chicago Police have to be assigned there. Daley knows this as well as anyone else in tDepartment of Aviation. But Shortshanks in his wisdom would rather pay CPD coppers who make 30-40 grand more a year in the airports instead of arming Aviation cops. Daley has to be making money somewhere or this wouldn't be the case. He may be a total fucking idiot but when it comes to the cash he is smart as a fox. Knowing many of the CPD cops at the airport thigh, they'd be like deers in headlights if they had to actually work the streets. Most are in retirement there or are scared of their own fucking shadows. Not all but a majority.

If we had money to hire, rather the citys money wasn't wasted we could have more officers hired. The federal govt. has a responsibility to ensure safety at airports and train stations. The city has to take care of the streets and they aren't doing that. The government should fine them for not providing security.

Shanks & Co, LLC has been robbinng the public since OHARE opened. From the firm that scrubs the toilets to the firm that changes the runway lightbulbs. They are all part of the Machine common folk has been voting for. Every contract, every project is an overrun. Shanks lays off City workers yet the private contractors flourish. OHARE is self sufficient and it's airline revenues along with fed subsidies pay for police & fire, yet manpower there dwindled down to a few po's a watch. ITS TIME TO GET THE THIEVES OUT OF CITY HALL.

At O'Hare airport, there are at least 3-4 PO's working the 1st watch with an additional 2 PO's on the desk (GOD forbid anything should happen on the desk!) but there are the homeless & mentals that sleep and hangout at the airport and cause disturbances....

DOA Police are support for CPD they alway have been. Many of them make the same salary as CPD cops so get your facts straight. I'd say they are overpaid security guards.

To the jealous five year wonder who stated that the cops at O'Hare would be like a deer in headlights if they ever had to work the streets ~ where do you think most of us came from? Most of us put our time in on the streets when you where in grammer school so I suggest you shut your mouth and do your time and when you grow some hair on your teeny tiny balls, maybe someday you can bid to the airport, goof!

As far as my original post I stand by it. I know many of the Aviation cops and if you think they make as much as we do, you must me smoking crack. Second if they are our backup, why aren't CPD sitting at the gates that have direct access to the airfields. They are and they are unarmed. So if you feel safe at the airports your crazy. Would any CPD cop sit anywhere around the airports inside or out unamed. No. As far as them being overpaid security guards, first they really haven't been given arrest powers, second they are unarmed. How much would you do. We back up ISP when they need help, does that make us any less police. They do the job they can with the equipment they don't have.

As to the poster who called me a 5 year wonder. I just want you to know I have a star on my sleeve. If you don't get that I have over twenty. I know the airport is a vacation home. God bless the old timers who are there. But when you have people with people who have gone there with just over 10 on, that's because they are dogs. Know many of these also. Wouldn't do a damn thing on the streets and still aren't worth the weight. In fact glad a few of these coppers are over there. On the street when you needed help, they just ran the other way. I'm not knocking the guys woth time on who deserve the break, just the dead weight who never did anything anyway. As far as bidding to the airport, sorry I get bored too easily. Plus I'm not politically correct. You talk about the cops at the airport, do they all dance to the music on Segway's. Must be so busy over there. You Tube catches everything.

BTW to the goof who called me a five year wonder, you probably came from 16 after doing nothing there for 15 years. I workked 007 for 14 years so stick that in you pipe and smoke it. If anything happened at the airports you and the rest of your street cop buddies would be running the other way. Don't worry though, some of us still out on the streets will show up, hanle the work and bring you a pair of shorts so you can change out of the ones you crapped in. Sorry about the running part, I just thought about it and you probably could only walk fast at most. Thank God for them Segways.

To the five wonder - oops, 14 year star cop who thinks he's a bad-ass because he works in 007...first, learn how to spell; second, I have NEVER worked in 016 and have NEVER run the other way. Before you open your mouth and start bashing police officers, make sure you get your facts straight about some of the police at O'Hare-we come from 010, 011, 013, 014, 015, 025, etc and have worked some of the worst areas ever, so like I said before, grow some hair on those teeny, tiny balls of yours and maybe when you get some time, you can even work special at the airport, GOOF!
