Weed Emergency

  • Nevada state officials declared a state of emergency after stores that sell recreational marijuana reported that their supply is running out just less than two weeks after the drug went on sale legally.

Gov. Brian Sandoval, R-Nev., issued the state of emergency on Friday, which will allow state officials to decide on new rules that could ease the shortage of marijuana, according to Fox 13 Now.

Nevada’s Department of Taxation released a statement that said it will contemplate emergency regulations that would permit liquor wholesalers to cash in on the marijuana sales.
How the Hell do you run out of weed? By allowing the government to run it we suppose. Perhaps Nevada can set up some sort of "weed sharing" program where an oversupply in one city can be shipped to a city in distress. And then after everyone gets their smoke on, they can do the same thing for Twinkie shortages.

President Wilson should have nationalized all the breweries, distilleries, and vineyards back in WW1, like he did with everything else. Then, when they rammed through Prohibition, the government would have screwed it up even worse. Prohibition would have been gone by 1925.

Laugh all you want, but this could be a serious problem. If enough people get unhappy, they might turn violent. A stoned population is a happy and non-violent population.

Notice the headline says ACCUSED and not ACQUITTED. No bias there.

Cop accused of shoving gun down suspect's throat sues city

Evans is seeking to be reinstated to his position as commander and earlier sued the city's Independent Police Review Authority, alleging the agency retaliated against him and set him up for criminal charges. A federal judge threw out that lawsuit in May.

Evans was found not guilty on all charges in December 2015. When he returned to work, he was demoted to lieutenant, assigned a desk job "against his wishes," and his superiors pressured him to retire using threats of additional investigations and possible prosecution.

The lawsuit claims Evans was victimized financially and emotionally. He was also denied back pay and "suffered emotional distress, embarrassment and humiliation."

Slightly off topic
Is it me or does everyone else notice the open and notorious smokingng of weed all over this town. While in pedestrians traffic, waking along the park, walking to the grocery store, going you the mailbox smoking marijuana has just become ridiculous.

While in vehicular traffic, with the Windows down you just can't escape it.

The argument with today's society is that it's not a big deal and really it's not that illegal, especially if all you get is a citation. He'll if your caught fishing without a license the DNR officer can physically arrest you and you will be held in custody until you see a judge.....which could be a couple of days if you are arrested on a Friday and Monday is a holiday.

Smoke weed and your detained for about five minutes for running a red light on your bike while getting high on the public way. Yet me and mine have to breathe your second hand weed smoke as you pedal by.

Really tired of this bullshit. What about you?

Illinois' answer to the pension crisis...not sure what the hold up is. Being surrounded by staunchly conservative states on every border ensures we'd get their pot heads as well. It would be a fucking gold mine!! Yep

Oh the horror! What's going to happen now! Will all the burning weed suckers pack up and leave for "greener" pastures? Will the addicts be forced to go cold turkey and get clean? Will cigarette sales go up? Will the feds be called in force faster plant growth?

Will the addicts grow up, get a job and move out of Mama's basement? Marijuana has become an entitlement and the state must do something in a hurry! What a joke.

That's why states like Nevada, Washington, and Colorado have a surplus budget. Illinois could legalize pot, and be out of debt, shore up the pensions, and have money for school funding. Maybe they haven't figured out how they can skim the profits yet to get it done. It beats the hell out of a soda tax and and increase in the state income tax. Bunch of dummies running this state.

The reason they're short of weed is because the alcohol lobbyists fought the legalization of weed. As a concession to the lobbyists, the weed is delivered to the clinics by the alcohol distributors. Apparently the distributors are not happy.

Maybe they will all get sick and then the problem is over saving taxpayers millions in future costs dirt nap is the solution and ford assists criminals by sickening police

Austin police officer sues Ford over carbon monoxide poisoning

http://www.foxnews.com/auto/2017/06/22/austin-police-officer-sues-ford-over-carbon-monoxide-poisoning.html

An Austin police officer is suing Ford Motor Company and Leif Johnson Ford after he claims he was left severely ill from carbon monoxide poisoning. He says it happened inside one of the patrol cruisers. As a result, APD installed mobile detectors in all of their units. This year, 26 of them have tested positive for the toxic gas.

So 26 positive for toxic gas another problem with the junk ford puts out! Wonder is this "targeted" against police or are other ford products destroying peoples health?
How many "detectors" has Chicago installed on our vehicles? crickets of course zero!

Headline should be "Ford attacks police with poison gas" Where is the 24/7 "dishonest media" silent as always!

This is exactly why government is not empowered to decide the business model of CROPS GROWN.

Leave FARMERS to their own devices, and they will, wait for it.....FARM!

The only emergency here is that it is on display for all to see that government can not run weed - while every weed smoker knows it worked fine without government running it at all. People want weed they can get it. They can grow it themselves.

The emergency is that what is exposed here is that government is not needed at ALL in this area.

Only liquor distributors are allowed to obtain the license needed to ship cannabis to stores for the first 18 months.

If this distribution problem goes on for long I imagine people will just buy their weed privately like they used to do.

Old Retired Guy Here, Again !!! Question; Just about any job a person applies for these days, requires a test for cannabis. Am I correct ? If you have a job with City, State,Federal, any many others, you will be tested for cannabis randomly. If you are involved in a traffic accident, or other type incident, you will be tested. What I am saying, is even if cannabis is made legal, a person with a decent job can not use it.
I for see lawyers making issues with this.

You're missing the point here people; the liquor distribution network to distribute POT, you can grow it in Illinois as a cash crop and sell it to Nevada, reaping millions in taxes and netting the Illinois liquor industry a legalized monopoly on growing weed for the masses. All we need is farm fields for growing and a few secure liquor warehouses to process and ship it. Your pension problems have been solved!

Tobacco kills 500k (directly) every year. Cannabis has yet to register one single fatality going back thousands of years. Cannabis legalization support is now in the majority nationwide across many different demographics and age groups to varying degrees. I fail to see any political bias whatsoever in these numbers.

Heh-heh-heh. Don't forget the marketing aspects . . . this could be done following the Samuel Adams template, with some seasonal offerings. Just need some hip and happening names . . .

Late Spring / Early Summer - Plainfield Patchouli & Joliet Joints, grown on some of the farmland by Stateville.

Summer and Early Fall offerings - Naperville Nirvana, Lisle Lobotomy and Cairo Cush.

Winter (Nov 15 - Mar 1) Oswego Window Box and Glen Ellyn Greenhouse.
