Community violence intervention groups on Thursday announced an ambitious plan to raise $400 million through a public-private partnership to try to reduce the numbers of shootings and homicides in Chicago by 50% within five years.
At a South Shore Cultural Center event attended by Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson, leaders of the city’s business community and largest charitable foundations said the fundraising goal is roughly double the current spending on violence-prevention programs that serve the city’s most-violent neighborhoods.
The aim is to scale up those programs so they reach at least half of the estimated 20,000 people in Chicago considered at greatest risk of being shot.
They're shooting (pun intended) for an annual homicide total of under 400. Just to put that in perspective, the last time Chicago saw under 400 homicides was 1965 (395 total). That was before we were even born.
Unless the plan involves 10,000 bus tickets out of town for those are "greatest risk" of being shot, we're thinking there isn't going to be much in the way of prevention. And with 1,000 retirements on tap, the chances are even less.

Here's a good start how about denouncing rap/gang social media post. Especially before the murders happen. Additionally, how about not having your only proactive policing officers(tac teams) sitting at City Hall meetings for people(most of the Palestinians) who don't live in Chicago(ie Tinley, Orland, and, Bridgeview) babysitting a resolution that has 0 affect on global conflicts. The premise is to take $400 million, and use it to reduce Chicago homicides from 600/year to 400/year in 5 years.
This means for year 5, there would be 200 fewer homicides.
If we assume a linear scale, it also means that for year 1, there would be 40 fewer homicides.
80 fewer for year 2, 120 fewer for year 3, and 160 fewer for year 4.
This would be a total of 600 lives saved over 5 years for $400 million.
This would be a cost of $2/3 million for each life saved, $666,667.00 each.
Oh, boy, a bargain.

You were close to finding the problem. There's a very obvious race component to virtually all of the violent crime in Chicago. But it would be racist to point out that the overwhelming majority of violent crime is committed by black people, followed by Hispanic people. I'm sure it's because white people did something to cause it. It's almost like children of certain races are being raised poorly in a culture that promotes gang membership, drugs, taking what doesn't belong to you, etc. If only there was some way to figure out what the problem could be and then find a solution.

Put the money into poisoned ammo free to the bangers. Convert those wounded stats into homicides for a year or two and then watch the rate drop a lot. If the illegals take up the slack then another program!
