Soros-backed Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx preemptively announced that she will not prosecute protesters who are “peaceful” at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
This sudden turn toward leniency runs against what she claimed in April, Wirepoints reported.
Despite the attention to “peaceful” protesters, Foxx also announced ahead of time that she will not prosecute anyone arrested for misdemeanors — such as disorderly conduct, public demonstration, unlawful gathering, criminal trespass to state-supported land, and even curfew charges.
The policy is not new, though. The prosecutor, who was given a $408,000 donation from a George Soros super PAC in 2016, has maintained this policy at least since the riots in 2020 and has released hundreds of protesters over the years — even those who perpetrated property damage.
Despite this announcement of leniency, Foxx was talking tougher in April when she told the Chicago Tribune that her past policy, confirmed in a November 15 memo, would be set aside and hinted that protesters could expect to be arrested.
We really need a recall mechanism for elected officials who refuse to do their jobs. And a charge of "official misconduct" for intentionally misrepresenting their campaign platforms just to get elected.

So can we actively, legally refuse to arrest for this?? It just puts us arresting officers in a trick bag for a lawsuit. We are actively being told that they will not be prosecuted.

Does anyone else find it odd that it requires more ID vetting to get into the DNC venue than it does to get into the U.S.?
If Foxx won't prosecute, let them in! And when Texas Governor Abbott's or Florida Governor DeSantis' busloads of illegal immigrants arrive, wave them in!
Don't get yourself hurt, lose your job, or go to prison for communists who couldn't care less about you. This is the "Defund the Police" party, after all. You're just protecting democrats from democrats.
At this point, why bother even arresting them? The protesters breach security, start storming the building, whatever. Stand down. When the SS & alphabet agencies start questioning what is happening, hey, our SA doesn’t want to prosecute any of them and went public with it. Unless you want to start hammering them all federally, why bother making the arrest? I’m honestly surprised there haven’t been more lawsuits in the county from agencies arresting people for crimes she clearly won’t prosecute and make an unlawful arrest argument out of it. She’s worthless and it’s 100% why we don’t have a recall ability in this state. The politicians can lie their ass off and nothing can even be done about it. Say what you have to, to get voted in. Once in, you’re gold, period.

As usual she says her and her democrats are for total lawlessness,but yet police officers risk injury,and property owners risk damage the question is why bother?we live in a totally lawless city-county-state!

If Crimesha isn’t going to do HER job and has made it clear that any protesters who get arrested won’t be prosecuted, why on earth have the police there at all? Frankly, having the wall of police officers on the streets just gives the protesters the media scenes they want. Otherwise they would just be out wandering the streets yelling stupid chants, which gets pretty boring really quickly. The protesters NEED the police to be there so they can “rail against the man” to get their protester street cred. They WANT to get arrested because it increases their stature in the “community organizer” world. I bet they put it on their resumes! Besides, they know Crimesha won’t prosecute so there is no downside.
She only prosecutes people who throw root beer on her. If the police refuse to arrest someone when probable cause exists and complaints are signed they get nailed for a lot of rule violations.
I'm from Milwaukee. I often say "this would not happen under Mayor Maier and Chief Brier..." and to be honest, this would not happen under Mayor Daley. It just wouldn't. There was law, discipline, order. But, we live in "enlightened times" they say. Those protestors of the 60's now have kids, grandkids, and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Pathetic.

Foxx is a scourge on the city and the county. The Democrats own her and get what they deserve. Keep voting for Democrats.
Why don't the Dems use the same criteria for qualifying voters as the criteria to get into the DNC?

She set a bad precedent by dropping the charges against all of the other protesters. If they charge the DNC protesters, and NOT all the others, then it’s malicious persecution.
How do "Peaceful" protestors get arrested? By not being peaceful. But we all know Foxx will rewrite the rules as things move along, and "Peaceful" will ever everything short of murder or arson.
Indemnification. Hopefully.
