Complaint Tents
A rumor from a few days ago with numerous commentators claiming we were making $hit up.
The IAD part is true:
There shelters are outside of Malcolm X college we're told, with a second one outside of Belmont and Western to take complaints from I-bonded arrestees. Supposedly there's a third at the south side processing Area.
Now who has pictures of the COPA tents? Again, we're told there are up to ten of them scattered around downtown and the UC for taking complaints about coppers who mean mug protestors or anyone making a snide remark.

IAD is a necessary evil that the department needs to keep things running correctly. The POs in IAD are doing work that has to be done one way or another. You can't fault them, it's an inside spot that keeps you off the street and there's some very real misconduct on this department that has to be investigated. This however is pretty disgusting. How low does the level of respect for yourself have to be for you to sit at one of these tents actively broadcasting to these losers "get my co-workers in trouble here". If the POs working these tents feel like cucks, they should.

That would be true if the unit wasn’t so corrupt. At one point officers wanted to be assigned to the IAD to make it a part of their resume’. On top of that bosses used to encourage their subordinates to apply to work for the IAD for the experience. Nowadays, the only people that applies to work at the IAD are the one with 30+ complaints themselves, those that want days and weekends off and the corrupt.

1. Desire to stay off the street is a crappy reason to work IAD- and yet that is one way they recruit members.
2. IAD is an absolute necessity- -but NOT how CPD has been running it for years-- crappy investigations and incompetent bosses.

Well here in 008 we have had guests since Saturday. BIA SGT’S and a couple of PO’s.
They were supposed to be detailed to the Midway Airport for the DNC, but didn’t get their security clearance in time or something.
So they had nothing to do. Our days Lt attempted to deploy them at two different stops on the Orange line. They were pissed.
So phone calls were made and from Saturday afternoon on they have been sitting in the 8th district community room for 12 hours a day.
Yep, the people who investigate us, are just sitting on their butts for 12 hours a day making time and a half doing absolutely nothing.
Maybe someone should investigate that!
Also these could be the most unfriendly PO’s and Sgt’s in the department. They looks they give us when we are near the front desk.
Like they are 1000 times better than us and how did they just stuck with this stupid people from patrol.

It is kind of comical watching the short round ones (of which there are a LOT) in their BDUs and helmets, knowing that when it really comes down to it- they would just be in the way. Often more of a liability than anything.
