That happens, but almost no one is letting the public know that guns being downtown isn't out-of-the-ordinary any more, mostly because police (A) aren't allowed to stop anyone any more or (B) there just aren't enough police around.

After the video of the twelve and thirteen year olds jumping a mother and her kids walking home from school last week, Conehead and the school officials were more interested in anything EXCEPT the offenders, the parental influence on the offenders and promised counseling....for the victims. But not accountability.

All three of these “anti violence” groups run around the city in decommissioned police cars pretending they’re a government agency or that they “work with the mayor”
They try to fight the police at crime scenes, disregard traffic laws, attempt to walk into crime scenes to film, and seem to know all the of teens that are offenders or victims in these notable events.
It’s extremely alarming and they’re in the same boat as the “cpd reform activist” in the mentioned article. I’m sure we will see all of them as the target of fugitive apprehension soon enough.
The City of Chicago needs to stop giving these morons a platform.

It just warms my Heart on a story how a complete animal who caused the execution of fellow gang members gets convicted only to have conviction overturned due to procutorial misconduct. Be retried, to be found guilty on a lesser sentence due to witnesses being dead. This thug then reforms and becomes clean as the driven snow while behind bars. Gets released. And finds federal and state funding and employment helping law enforcement agency correct its bad policing methods. Only then at age 60 find out that he has been finding underage children to have sexual contact with. And the next state is arresting him.

Brandon does have a plan and it is working well. The plan is to keep the ACLU, CTU, the virtue signalers on the lake front happy and democratic base happy. Ways to lower your crime stats:
1.) Defund your police department. Chicago is down over 3000 POs. SEE NO.2..
2.) Wait times for service become so long since the department is so short POs crime victims simply leave without making a report.
3.) Raise the threshold for felony charges so retail establishments don't even bother to report thefts.
4.) Get rid of paper trails. Shotspotter generated paper on gunfire in areas plagued by shooting. People living there don't bother calling anymore since they've now become used to frequent gunfire. Unfortunately Shotspotter generated some kind of paper. Unacceptable.
5.) Have follow up units downgrade incidents. We all know how to do this. Whistlblowers in the DC police department have stated supervisors arriving on crime scenes to dictate reporting units to downgrade incidents. You can also have the detectives do the dirty work by having them change the classification of the initial report. We all know that had no one caught a bullet last week in the Loop the entire shooting incident would have been coded as "unfounded".
Blue cities like New York, DC, Chicago and LA have all been pushing the bullshit of having low crime stats by using these tried and true methods. Except that anyone unfortunate to live there knows better and can call bullshit on this. Funny how the media didn't go to Englewood or Gresham to ask the ACTUAL residents about the need for the National Guard on their neighborhoods.
I retired seven years ago and might have some of this wrong so feel free to make any corrections or additions. Let the public know about the BULLSHIT they're being fed by the politicians and media.

As Chicago backs off policing, its murder rate skyrockets ever higher

Chicago’s yearlong shooting rampage picked up steam over Christmas weekend, leaving 61 people shot, 11 fatally. Seven were killed on Christmas Day alone, more than on the three previous Christmases combined, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Gangbangers targeted each other’s holiday gatherings as if in deliberate mockery of the season. Two young girls were shot while sitting in a van at 11:30 p.m. Monday by a presumed gang rival of the younger one’s father.
So far this year, 4,334 people have been shot in Chicago: one person every two hours. Almost all the victims have been black. The police have shot 25 people, virtually all armed or otherwise dangerous — less than .6 percent of the total. That disparity between civilian and police shootings hasn’t stopped local Black Lives Matter activists from continuing to claim that it’s the cops who are the biggest threat facing Chicago’s young black men today.
If there’s any silver lining to the violence, it will be if it acts as a wake-up call regarding the de-policing and decriminalization movements sweeping the country. Chicago is Exhibit A in what happens when the police back off from enforcing public order, having been told that maintaining control of the streets constitutes racial oppression...

CWB has the name of the stabber and that all of the offenders are Venezuelan migrants. The Tribune, Sun Times, ABC, NBC, and CBS are literally light years behind in their coverage with all of their ace reporters. They are experts at suppressing the news if it doesn't meet their agenda. Pathetic.
The Tribune had an editorial about this incident today. And they very prominently called out the outstanding work. CWB has done:

The big question never raised in their editorial, and therefore never answered, is why is a “crime news site” doing such exemplary work that the Tribune has to quote it instead of doing the work themselves.
Maybe the editorial side wishes their news side actually did real reporting instead of immigrant advocacy.
No, their editorial side requires their 'news' side to NOT do real reporting.
