We were just teasing when we said the left was going to dream up some way to blame Bush/Cheney/Rice/Rove and the Republicans for this hurricane, AND KENNEDY GOES AND DOES IT!
We tell you, if Rove really is behind this all, he is a freaking genius. Here we have hundreds of thousands of people fighting for their very survival, no power, no water, looting, dead bodies floating in the streets, countless missings and god knows how many people unable to reach out and contact their loved ones ... AND THE LEFT BLAMES BUSH FOR A HURRICANE!! Once again proving that the only good kennedy is a Dead Kennedy (love that band!)
We have always heard good things about New Orleans. Yes, there are parts that were sh#$holes, but as long as you stayed in the touristy parts, life was grand. We know many coppers who went there and told tales of the N.O.P.D. welcoming C.P.D. with open arms. If we aren't mistaken, Louisiana was one of the few states we could carry guns in before the National Concealed Carry Law was passed. Even if it wasn't, N.O.P.D. loved having Chicago guys down in the French Quarter and bought them drinks all night. Maybe it was the common culture of political corruption that pervades both cities? Hopefully, those days are not too far gone and New Orleans will rise again from the bayou.
UPDATE: A second levee has collapsed and it looks like the governor has ordered a complete evacuation of New Orleans. Have you ever wondered what a complete dissolution of society might look like? Here it is in miniature.

With all the blame on police for racial profiling lately... let me ask you this....
Watching the live coverage of the hurricane I noticed this so clearly...
All the looting are blacks....
All the people who ignored the evacution orders and now are sitting on the roofs of their houses are black.....
All these service men from the Reserves and Coast Guards risking thier lives plucking these stupid people who refused to leave when ordered off these roofs is just amazing!
In a real world I would charge these people the cost to rescue them. It would be one thing if there was no warning of this hurricane but not only was there a warning but a luwful order given to evacuate.
Funny how the white first responders are so racial when confronted on the street by these same people... but they are now their savior when plucking them off their roofs....
Maybe they should stay on their roof and tell the first responders we don't want whitey helping us. We'll wait for some black rescuers!
For a population that makes up less than 13 percent of the US population, they surely screw up more things than 13 percent in this country!

I've made decisions that I was not authorized to make during a riot before. The media showed a white police officer telling people at a grocery store to grab what they needed. In the apocolyptic conditions of New Orleans, 99% of the typical rules that govern society are completely out the window. There is no clean water, no food...

To allow the climate to stabilize requires coal and oil to be cut by 70 per cent which threatens one of the largest commercial enterprises in history.

1. Their stations, computers, and radios are unusable.
2. Most of their Vehicles are destroyed.
3. Where can they put their prisoners or book them for court?
4. How can they possibly investigate any crimes including murders without telephones, cars or computers?
5. When do they begin to release prisoners serving sentences?
6. How does the Jefferson Parrish Court system deal with pending trials for serious crimes?

I'm sorry, but without spewing slurs and hatred, being a white male can be frustrating. This looting is in fact being done by blacks. When it was done in L.A. it was because they were so angry (according to activists) that they needed to do burn and pilage to vent. What is the excuse now? Pretending to turn a blind eye to all this crap is as bad as turning a blind eye to anything done by any ethnic group. Am I saying all blacks are looters? Hell no! But making excuses for these people doesn't help blacks. It just sends a message that blacks can do this kind of thing because society has grown to expect so little of them. Where are the black leaders calling for an end to this type of behavior? Where is the outcry from the respectable and hard working African-Americans? They should be shaming their own people into a higher state of social awareness, just as every other ethnic group has done. This is same reason that dope dealing and street crime flourish in the majority of inner city neighborhoods, because every one puts the blame on the police or society or institutionalized racism. BULLSHIT! People dont openly deal drugs in MY neighborhood because it isn't tolerated, period. The Chicago Public Schools don't suck because of the buildings or the staff, its the ASSHOLE PARENTS, period. I take a somewhat different perspective on the so-called "looting" - don't care if it is big ticket items. Given the devastation in New Orleans and elsewhere, these big ticket items are going to be most likely destroyed anyway and these looters are very unlikely to be able to protect these items once they get them out of stores anyway. There's so much flooding and sewage that all of this high-end equipment isn't likely to work anyway and if the looters are taking what food and what is available so be it. Including from other people's homes. Can't image that anyone expect to come back to anything usable. Those people who got out would be better off to just head up north, west or east, call it a day, get new jobs and places to live and start over. Its all they can do. Stop calling it looting, its more like recycling. . .
No, its still looting. Acting like an animal just because you can, doesn't make it o.k. I never saw anyone eat 10 pairs of shoes or drink a T.V. All these people had ample warning to get somewhere safe. If it was your business that they were violating you would be pissed, total loss or not.
