Rumors!
Let's see if we remember how to do this - it's been so long since we had a rumor worth publishing. Supposedly, three finalists have been submitted to the Hall this past Friday for the open Chief of Patrol spot. Expect an announcement this week. Any ideas who the three names are? Because that's where the rumor stops. Someone is doing a pretty good job of keeping it secret. We speculated aloud that our money was on Area 3 D/C Dugan. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

The New Orleans / Chicago Police group IS NOT GOING NOW.
It has been cancelled.
The CPD presently in the South from S.O.S is returning also.
No word yet as to why we are pulling out.

did so because of the following.
The Spokeman who made sure his family was safe and not in danger of the flood waters after the hurricane returned to his position to continue to help in the massive hurricane damage.
Upon returning back home to check on his family he found his wife and daughters all have been raped, tortured and MURDERED!
That is the reason he killed himself.
This was reported on Thursdays nationally broadcasted "Rush Limbaugh" radio program.
The Deputy Chief of the N.O.P.D. then gave the orders to shoot and kill any gang members armed. After several gang members were killed by gun fire (None reported as police related shootings) the City of New Orleans sent many of its sworn personnel to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. (Hmmmmm to keep them from being interviewed and time to clean their guns?)
All I can say is more power to that Dep. Chief who gave these orders.

That anonymus claim that NOPD spokesman Sgt. Paul HAccardo's wife and daughters were raped, tortured and murdered is total bullshit.
Here is the obituary information. He had no daughters and his wife survived him.
According to the obituary in the Advocate of Baton Rouge, Accardo left a wife, Anne; his mother, Catherine; a brother; a sister; and eight nieces and nephews.

In Robbins, Maywood, trend goes the other way
In Robbins, a mostly black south suburb, whites are 13 times more likely to be stopped than minorities, according to state data.
Among Illinois towns conducting more than 100 traffic stops in 2004, only in East St. Louis did whites face higher odds. They were 18 times more likely to be stopped than minorities.
In Maywood, the ratio is five whites for every minority stopped, and in Phoenix it's nearly four to one.
Robbins Police Chief Johnny Holmes said his department doesn't target whites who pass through the tiny town along the Cal Sag Channel. Like chiefs of white towns with a high rate of minorities being pulled over, Holmes said researchers underestimated the number of whites driving through Robbins (they put it at 4.6 percent).
And when it comes to getting off without a ticket, or perhaps with just a verbal warning, Chicago gives minorities the greatest breaks. While minorities in Chicago are 1.55 times more likely to get stopped than whites, after the stop they are 1.45 times less likely to get a ticket than whites.
Some argue that this may indicate the stops were not justified in the first place.
A police spokesman had no explanation for this phenomenon. However, several police officers told reporters they sometimes let people off with license or insurance violations in high-crime neighborhoods. They said writing a ticket would mean taking the violator to jail, getting tied up in paperwork and preventing the officers from staying on the street patrolling for more serious crime.

Guy with 22 years said he was called yesterday morning and told to report this morning and had a power test to go to New Orleans. Received a second call last night saying the trip was off. Another guy, with 18 years, was never called so that's near the cut-off was to be called.

Fat Phil can fuck off, but how did he drop the ball? They have 15,000 soldiers and thousands of state, parish, and municipal cops in the area. They are sending people home left and right. FEMA never asked the city for help. There are more local cops and soldiers in the city than citizens. None of the surrounding areas that have taken in the refugees have asked for help. They're policing them just just like we are at 13th & Racine. Did you think you were going to ride in on your white horse, with a junior g-man badge and clean up dodge city? The claims of 10,000 or 25,000 dead have turned out to be gross exaggerations of a local government eager to blame the feds. What exactly did you think you think you would be doing down there? How about, nothing. They had had nothing for us to do in NY 4 years ago. All the shit we did was a repeat of things that had already been done 2 or 3 times. All the newly promoted Lts received letters saying that they will not get their pay increases for their promotions until the Mayor's new expert on hiring and promotions reviews the promotions. I don't know if this is good or bad. Mabe she'll look at what has been going on in this Dept. for years and some positive changes will cccur. Or, she'll run away in horror.
