The Endgame Continues

We've been scanning the other local news sites for more of this story, but so far, only channel 7 seems to have coverage of it, and thin coverage at that:
The mayor's own cousin is suing him for wrongful termination. Imagine that. Of course, the city law department has said deposing the mayor is unnecessary, but we are of the opposite position. In a city where it's been proven it's not what you know, but who you know, this could help prove that a pattern of corruption and favoritism is not only part and parcel of the political culture, it's smiled upon and endorsed from on high.

Go check out the "Who Made Who? Who Made You?" post if you don't believe us. 174 comments and growing daily.

UPDATE: the sun times provides slightly expanded coverage of the mayor's upcoming deposition

Just in. I heard Mark Donahue wants to run for Sheriff, if Mike Sheahan does not, or if steps down. All the 19th Ward Boys would like that scenerio. Southside Irish to the chore.

On a tour of Alaska, the Pope took a couple of days off to visit the mountains for some sight-seeing.

He was cruising along the campground in the Pope-mobile when there was a frantic commotion just at the edge of the woods. A helpless Democrat, wearing sandals, shorts, a "Bush Lied" T-shirt and a Tree Hugger Hat, was struggling frantically, thrashing around trying to free himself from the jaws of a 10 foot grizzly.

As the Pope watched horrified, a group of Republican loggers came racing up. One quickly fired a .44 magnum into the bear's chest. The other two reached up and pulled the bleeding semiconscious Democrat from the bear. Then using long clubs, the three loggers beat the bear to death and two of them threw it onto the bed of their truck while the other tenderly placed the injured Democrat in the back seat.

As they prepared to leave, the Pope summoned them to come over. "I give you my blessing for your brave actions!" he told them. "I heard there was a bitter hatred between loggers and environmental activists, but now I've seen with my own eyes that is not true."

As the Pope drove off, one of the loggers asked his buddies "Who was that guy?" "It was the Pope," another replied, "he's in direct contact with God and has access to all God's wisdom."

"Well," the logger said, "he may have access to all God's wisdom, but he sure doesn't know anything about bear hunting.....

By the way, is the bait holding up okay ....or do we need to go back to town and grab another one?"

Donahue knows as much about being a Sheriff as he does being our president, nothing.

Of course in Cook County, you never had to know anything.

What does Mark Donahue running for Sheriff have anything to do with the mayor being deposed?

Seems the majority of commentors can only talk about one small facet of their life (their line of work) and nothing else. There is more to life than just the "job'.

Donahue would be replaced by Nolan or better yet John Dineen. He's running for another term on the pension board. Just can't get enough of our money, can he?

Screw the mayor went to get a prescription filled. The booklet says its covered, the Caremark web site says its covered, but guess what its not, the city decided to change it, and Caremark doesn't have any say so, it doesn't matter what the literature says. Do you think the mayor paid for all his stuff when he underwent testing at Northwestern Hospital because his bloodpressure was high. This after his wife's friend's O'hare contracts was disclosed in the paper.
