A great defense can only keep you in the game. No offense will burn you in the long run. Please post advice to Lovie Smith in this thread in case he ever gets around to reading this blog.
tell that player #54 on the bears to keep his pecker in his pants.Liked the number better when Bryan Cox had it..They just make a big deal out of that Urlacher cause he a white boy, otherwise he would be just a regular substandard linebacker!
I'll join the comments last week of "Malcolm X's little brother" and call for 14-year veteran Jeff Blake to get the call. He's been with the team all year and knows the offense.
Now I told ya guys last week that Kid Kyle wasn't gonna be the hosre to carry these BEARS deep in the playoffs. And BLAKE's not the answer either. It's PEANUT, baby, PEANUT (brittle though he may be!) It don't help when the dumbfuck offensive coaching staff calls a NAKED BOOTLEG that nearly gets ORTON killed when the Bears were knocking at the 2 yard line early (and this obvious play call even after a time out!). Get the extra 4 points then and get assface rookie GOO-ELLD to make the damn p.a.t. and this would at least have become a seven point game late (punk, if you miss extra points your name will soon be MUD, not "GOLD"... capishe?)
So even the coaching staff sucked it big time today- hell, Lovie didn't even know enough (or get any help) when one of the defensive secondary Bears picked a ball off his shoetops... (Johnson?) and in the resulting scrum friggi' Azumah pulledthe ball away from him and the damn refs called it incomplete, when a challenge would have showed it a pickoff, down by contact! The seem to always short-sell throwing that red review flag, need to get better with that.
Ah fuck, put me in already, the ORIGINAL number 10, Bobby "Scrambled Eggs" Douglass... my legs and arm are STILL worth more than both these young punks spindly bodies combined! I'd have showed Bettis how to get on the Bus!
By the way- at this rate da Bearz will be hard pressed to win the division... could easily drop two of the next three... with Mike Brown and that other promising rookie DB Chris Harris out... major sucking sound in Bears defense; they'd better find some offensive spark fast to take up the slack!
Let's see, Blake has passed for 133 TD's in his career and that includes three seasons, including this one, where he played a total of six downs. Passing is something sorely lacking in the Bears offense.
That's about 100 more than ole #10 above, although the scrambler Bobby has rushed for more TD's than Blake. I was more of a fan of Rudy Bukick the guy who wore #10 before Bobby Douglass.
WOW- You got me on the pre-"Lefty" Numero DIEZ, Leftmeister! Maybe you ARE the 1960's TRIPPY the HIPPY you claim to be... I'll bet you w-e-r-e "checking your swings" back in the DNC riot downtown... but what else are we "Libs" to do? ;-) Click on my new pic of RUDY and you'll see what I believe Mr. BukicH was most famous for (if it's too small to see the number of the guy he's HANDING OFF to... ;-)
Anyhoo Lefty, BLAKE may have put up some numbers, but that was quite some time ago, and suddenly he's 36 years old, and he didn't throw nearly ANY passes in the pre-season either since being on the shelf for the three seasons prior... he may be generically acquainted with this STYLE of offense, but realistically if he hasn't been taking all the snaps for a LONG while, he just isn't going to be an improvement on ORTON... whereas I feel, not sure, but feel that GROSSMAN just has that passion and trickyness, almost that intangible McMahon-ness that we really need trying to set up a playoff run. Sure, it's hard to just get on a roll like a baseball wildcard team can do in longer series... but just all the more reason to give the wheel to the guy who has the magic... hey- I'd like to be wrong in either event- maybe Peanut Brittle will come in for a quarter next week and his head will literally pop off... who knows. Not against BLAKE or ORTON, just think GROSSMAN is the way to go...
At least Blake has some numbers, even if long ago. Thank you Mr. Real for backing me up. Beside Shady (and sometimes Little Malcolm) backers here are few.
After Grossman breaks his coccyx, then Lefty's BLAKE can prove me wrong!
Hey Lefty- tell me more about RUDY BUKICH... was he a good QB? Gale Sayers steal some of his thunder? What was the Bears record 64-68? They had won it all in `63 under another QB, right??
Hey O'Grady you fucking idiot. How many drawn out posts are you gonna make under all your new user names. Now you the real #10. GO back to your gay chat rooms.

go back to sleep lefty, Blake was never a winner, check his record, just like your politics, you loser.
Ouch. Let Lefty talk football. This wasn't a political thread. Relax people.

since winning on the road in Pitt become a sure thing? any qb and lack of any injury and they still would have lost. Not a big deal
It's time to trade in that drab orange and navy blue rag for some shining Purple and Gold.
Purple Fever is spreading. 6 wins in a row.
Newsflash to Bears Fans: '85 is over and will never happen again. Get over it.
lets be realistic here. the bears will not make it past the first round of the playoffs.a 9 and 4 record to this point is a fluke.
i agree with lefty, bring in Blake. I will bet he will score some points.

Go COLTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just hope da Bearz make the playoffs!
